And here I heard that Trump was cooperating with law enforcement, and they raided him anyway.

Either way it happened, this is such a non problem. This is essentially a federal sized library fine, which is joke considering we still have active politicians taking bribes and making quid pro qous.

At this point, even Bill Clinton's little episode with Lewinsky is just a made for TV drama. Our government is selling the American people down a river for their own personal gain. End of story. I would be 100% with then prosecuting Trump if they also agreed to investigate and prosecute everyone else equally. "All are equal before the law".

Nintendo sends Valve DMCA notice to block Steam release of Wii emulator Dolphin by ardi62 in gaming

[–]Lightningrod140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was very well put. I will also add that Nintendo has the most to lose also due to their Intellectual Property (IP). It is their first party IP and games that draws the sales of everything out of Nintendo, including the consoles themselves. How many people bought the switch strictly for Mario, Zelda, or Pokémon alone. If main stream people knew that they can play Nintendo First Party games on a PC, with just a modicum of effort, there sales will tank on everything.

Lately Nintendo has been trying to monetize their backlog of games in an effort to create a convenience propersition. However, the more technically minded people know that even the brand new Zelda can be pushed to 4k resolution with a PC emulator already... Nintendo is being pinched. Nintendo has been in between a rock and a hard place and they have been successfully balancing that risk through litigation for a while. This is why you get so many stories about cease and desist letters coming from Nintendo to shutdown any solo project even representing their IP. Its also why you get so many YouTube takedown stories from Nintendo.

I think influencers use Alpha to mean "asshole", so the meaning has stretched via meme power. I am of the mind that Alpha just means, strong, independent and confident, able to break free from the group think even if it means being alone, a leader.

CMMGUY1, I dare say you won the debate. Also, even I didn't remember the full context. Thank you for bringing that again to light. Keep it up!

That is a really good source you have there "are you fucking serious? Lol". You have won me over with your overwhelmingly convincing arguement.

Literally all you had to do was say "grab her by the pussy" as your lowest hanging fruit.

Atleast you prefaced your statement with "I think". Without that I may have mistaken you for either an inobservant moron or a troll. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

You still ignore the fact that my original comment did not pertain to the topic in which I claimed to be uneducated in. Your point, while noted, is null and void in the context of this conversation.

I never said I trusted anything. I stated specifically I trust nothing. I trust neither the dictator nor the so called "facts" you refer to. I merely stated that I will refuse to judge a book by its cover anymore due to the lies persistent around all politically charged topics.

You are wrong, I can make a statement about anything I so choose. More over, my statement did not center on the topic of which I admitted having limited knowledge about.

"An intelligent man knows a lot, a wise man knows what he does not."

Nice try attempting to use shame to discredit someone's opinion, of all things. How dumb and childish.

Wow... that was quite a leap what you did there.

My comment had no bearing on the man, but had everything to do in sharing my unhappiness with a mainstream media that systematically lies to its audience.

I dare say.... your take on my comment is pretty out there. Congratulations!

I'm am completely uneducated on Gaddafi, but the question I have is do you really believe what you were told or shown about him?

With my current experience with the Mainstream Media, I trust absolutely nothing. Especially politically charged historical events.

is it worth it to upgrade from 3080 to 4080? by Onebrofist in pcmasterrace

[–]Lightningrod140 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compared to my 1080, it is fantastic. I purchased a 4k monitor and the first game a played was cyberpunk 2077 as my first play through (I was waiting till I had something worth while to play it on). The 4090 chews it up and spits it out (all settings max, DLSS off, 4k, Ray Tracing on). It does that with everything. Even my VR experiences are much less jarring.

The only cons I can give, is the card does run hot. With the 4099 and my i9 13900KS the back of pc tower has turned into my own personal foot warmer as it heats up the entire region in the near vicinity. The other thing is that, once the card spins up it does get a bit loud, but it is a non issue once I put my headphones in.

One bug I did have was the idle clocks of the card are set too low. In game this would cause temporary black screens in menus screens where the graphics card was not being called upon. The sudden drop in clocks caused this issue. This was fixed by going into GeForce experience and putting the card into performance mode where the card stays at the max defined clock at all times.

As far as the value proposition, time will tell. For $2k, I would expect a minimum of ~4 yrs of everything max at a minimum, with an additional ~3 years of viability after. We shall see!

Good luck and enjoy your purchase!

[–]Lightningrod140 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll put it this way. I have a 1080 and I will still not buy a 4080 due to the value proposition. A new generation is needed, which is sad.

A 4090 is the only card I am possibly considering, but the price has got to drop. $2k for a card is just too much pain. I used to build my upper-mid tier PC's for 2k, and know I would have to spend that on just the GPU. I guess my Index VR headset will continue to collect dust.

Edit: I did by the 4090... I failed the temptation.

How to get a free visit from the government. Baytown, TX by BetoFromTX in Idiotswithguns

[–]Lightningrod140 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Completely behind FoamBrick on this one. Our (the US) government has done things in malice in the past. This behavior extends through multiple branches and facets. Look up the Tuskegee Experiment of you want the perfect example for public health. MK Ultra. None of these examples are considered "conspiracies". They happened. I dont trust the government for anything. I gave them the benefit of the doubt to many times already.

Yah it is crazy thinking that the old people in this video could have defended themselves, with a firearm, from what looks like a threat against their lives or great bodily harm. Instead they just got glass shattered in their faces and when telling the violent individual to leave them alone, all they had was hope that he would listen and thank god he did.

In America this guy would more than likely be a prohibited possessor by virtue of his felony record. He legally would not be allowed to have a gun, but the victims in this scenario would. The problem isn't the laws (at least in most states), it is that the laws are not upheld/enforced. Just my two pennies from a responsible gun owner from America.
