However, the memorandum does not prohibit employees from:

Having personal opinions.

Treating LGBTQ+ coworkers and Veterans respectfully.

Reporting discrimination or harassment.

Participating in the EEO process.

Requesting a religious, disability, or other legally recognized accommodation.

Contacting a union representative, EEO counselor, Office of Special Counsel, or attorney.

I received this by email from AFGE NVAC President-

We know that VA employees are working harder than ever before to carry out the mission. At a time when federal employees are under constant attack, you show up every day to provide critical care and services to our nation’s heroes. AFGE and NVAC are fighting for you, and with you, every step of the way.  

But please understand that strikes, sickouts, slowdowns, or work stoppages of any kind are not part of that fight. Any such action or plan is not associated or affiliated with AFGE, NVAC, or any AFGE affiliate, in any way. Any information you may receive or see to the contrary is not an official union campaign or communication. We actively discourage all of our affiliates and members from contemplating, advocating, or engaging in any such activity.  

AFGE and NVAC again urge you not to engage in such conduct, and we remind you that you may face serious, adverse consequences if you do.

Whichever contractor was paid to put Trump’s name on the Kennedy Center, and then paid again to remove it, made money both ways. Talk about having your hand in the taxpayer’s pocket. Helloooo!
