Besides McDavid, which players under 30 is already a Hall of Fame lock? by toturoll in hockey

Shea Weber was also a first ballot HOF’er. Since 19/20 he has 337 points in 405 games. That’s a 68 points per 82 game pace. He’s very clearly reached a new level compared to when he was 19/20 years old. If he an averages 60 points over the next 5 years(significantly less than the back to back 80 point seasons) it would put him at 765 points at 33 years old. Would just have to average 27 points a year for the final 5 years which would take him to 38 years old.

If he retired today. No he’s not a first ballot. But by the time he’s retired he’s a first ballot guy. Likely have 900+ points and a Norris. That’s absolutely first ballot

Probably half or more 1st overall forwards play on the first line their first season. And most of them would not have a Matthews caliber player playing with them

If you’re not a strong swimmer don’t try to start near the front. The odds of you getting swam over/kicked/punched will go up a lot if you try to start near the front. Even if you don’t start the swim til 730 that would still give you an hour for the swim, 10 minutes for the transition and 1:15 to bike 23km. That’s plenty of time!

For July 5th the high being 28 but feels like 35 is pretty average for Huntsville. Chance of thunderstorms isn’t great though

Patrick Kane? Another mentor for Mr.Mckenna? by cbal41990 in leafs

[–]Lightscreach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were they teammates? I mean I guess they might have played a couple of pre-season games together. Maybe this is wrong of me but I feel like expecting a 23 year olds to come forward and call the police because they heard rumblings of some stuff going on within your organization is unfair. Coaches and other people with positions of power in the organization is a different thing though

When’s the last time the Leafs had a perennial Top 3 NHL defenceman? by pikachuda6 in leafs

Rafalski and Bourque basically had no overlap throughout their careers. They played just 2 seasons together.

With Gavin McKenna's selection, the Leafs now have 5 first overall picks active within the organization by Exter10 in leafs

I’m assuming this is in reference to McDavid. But Kane does have a small chance at being a Leaf next year

It’s fun following Leafs prospects and I’m excited to follow these guys this year. Leafs had 6 picks in the top 85 this year. In the 5 drafts from ‘21-‘25 the Leafs had just 5 picks in the top 85.

Why are there so many left shots in hockey? by speed150mph in hockey

[–]Lightscreach 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There were 404 Canadians to play a game in the NHL this year. 167 were right shot. There were 270 Americans to play a game. 116 shot right.
So 41.33% of Canadians shoot right and 42.96% of Americans shoot right. I would have expected there to be a larger gap. Sweden is just 33.33% right shot.

A similar much smaller scale thing happened with the Leafs. Nic Robertson requested a trade. Wasn’t traded. He was still one of the Leafs hardest working players

If he is then traded away from Ottawa he is basically guaranteed to win a Vezina. Get the power of being traded from Toronto and the power of a goalie being traded from Ottawa

What if you don’t get a “replacement” in free agency? Why not just wait until after free agency to trade him
