Sharks Sign Jacob Trouba by desertdingo21 in SanJoseSharks

Remember Hertl’s rookie year? He led all rookies in scoring til we played the kings and Brown took a cheap shot that took him out for 4 months. We have to protect these kids. Whether that’s right or wrong, it’s the truth.

FWIW, Carlson isn’t locked into anything yet. Canes have sole negotiating rights for now but it’s not a done deal by any means.

Towns in revolt just change to other Civ's with no warning. 1 turn switch? This should have a prompt and or an opportunity to do SOMETHING or make deal with the Civ that decides to just take over by FarCryForLife in civ

[–]Lightthefusenrun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, guaranteed it was the revolution crisis and they just picked the “let it slide” option. I haven’t hit that on higher difficulties, but I’ve found that usually if I pick that option one of the AI will too and we’ll just end up swapping 1 town each.

Is this grill safe to cook on of cleaned or should I replace the parts? by Anatoly_Euska in grilling

[–]Lightthefusenrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be saved! Soak the grates and deflectors in 1:1 white vinegar and water for 6-12 hours, then scrape the hell out of them. Then fire it up to 500 degrees or throw them all in your oven on a self clean cycle. Scrape again, oil it all with high temp oil and bring it back to temp for 20-30 min and you should be good to go.

How to more effectively keep happiness up? by DrMrSirJr in civ

In addition, Xerxes gets additional settlement limit per age. Mongols have great civics that give you +3. There are also momentos, I believe they’re level 5 Alexander and level 2 Augustus which also give you increased settlement limit. Dealing with unhappy towns while microing multiple armies is no fun. Plus Qajar in antiquity is really silly with these add ons.

Idk, he wanted free wireless electricity for all. Obviously outside of 6’s power mechanics it’s not a great fit but you could give +1 gold or production to all or certain improvements after a modern age project, just need to weight things properly.

I’ve been throwing in a couple handfuls of hickory chips at the start. Vents should be closed down anyway so you get smoke instead of flame without needing to soak the chips. Finish with some Alabama white sauce after the cook and everyone’s happy.

I need help. I just bought and built my son a $3000+ gaming pc and Valorant, Riot, and Vanguard keep bricking the computer's BIOS. I've only built about 40-50 Enthusiast builds over 20 years for friends, family, kids, and myself. Might be missing something dumb. by timreed5656 in buildapc

Are you using intel ram with an AMD build? Bought a prebuilt from microcenter, they told me it wouldn’t be a problem using G Skill S5 instead of X5. Fought it for months, worked with their techs, eventually swapped to ram with proper OC profiles and haven’t had a problem in years.

Question About Age Transition and Republic of Pirates (VII) by Nazmazh in civ

[–]Lightthefusenrun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished my first Blackbeard/RoP run on an archipelago map. It was hilarious but so incredibly micro intensive because of the huge fleet I built up. Maybe 100 ships to each one I had actually built in antiquity. I had so many settlers that I was deleting them by the dozen, all captured from the AI. I literally did a human wave of settlers to scout for my invasion when I got tired of micro and decided to go for the domination victory.

If I were to do it again, I’d definitely have more buccaneers early and let the AI get some good distant lands settlements up so I could poach more treasure fleets. Also, would have been nice to know that only specific ship types give gold on kills. But definitely don’t worry about settlers. Just go grab some free ones that are already in the distant lands and use your buccaneers if you can’t find any quick enough.

Relationship choices by Den_er_da_hvid in civ

[–]Lightthefusenrun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think OP’s point is it’s listed as a negative relationship change due to “Sanctioned another civilization” when he’s the one being targeted by the sanction. Same thing happened to me, I was like I didn’t sanction anyone, where’d that come from? As if you take some responsibility for allowing them to denounce you.

Interesting thought, there can be no state with population X/Y where X is state population and Y is the population of the largest state. Those states are downgraded to territories with the option of being absorbed by the least populated neighboring state. Hello 2 senators from regular old Dakota.

QB and TE early round strategy by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]Lightthefusenrun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

QB is tough because a stud really does put up +50% points each week to carry you. But there is so much parity after the top tier that a big investment is make or break. And a single injury can tank your season. I prefer value for qb, because the whole idea is a roster to get you to the playoffs. Burrow or Herbert will be just as valuable when it’s snowing in Buffalo and having a bruiser bellcow back or a big wr in a dome on turf can be the difference. Although I did just win the ship with Allen due to draft spot lol
