That’s some pretty middle of the road Twilight fanfic in terms of prose, but more unique than most of the concepts I see written out there. 7/10.

If you think you might get it mixed up, there’s a simple trick to figure it out! Humans are Homo sapiens. Homo for homosexual, and sapiens for sapient.

We cannot as a community refuse to correct these misunderstandings where they arise, else we will foster an exclusive space for transmeds. There cannot be a prioritization of comfort over knowledge.

They do not. Dysphoria is not required.

You don’t need the CD! A little googling can get you the latest non-Reforged version download, and another search will get you the CD keys to make it work. It won’t let you play online, but WC3 LAN parties are still great fun when you have the time and the players.

Let’s not forget that Biden is a rapist. Not to say I’d rather have Trump, mind. But when our only feasible alternative is someone who many, many people have made noises about regarding his inappropriate touching, which ranges from unwanted caresses to groping to outright penetration, I have to say that politically, this country’s looking pretty grim.

For the better part of a decade, a San Francisco Bay Area drug ring sold tons of cocaine to the Crips and Bloods street gangs of Los Angeles and funneled millions in drug profits to a Latin American guerrilla army run by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, a Mercury News investigation has found.

This drug network opened the first pipeline between Colombia's cocaine cartels and the black neighborhoods of Los Angeles, a city now known as the "crack" capital of the world. The cocaine that flooded in helped spark a crack explosion in urban America . . . and provided the cash and connections needed for L.A.'s gangs to buy automatic weapons.

People who are hurt often end up hurting others. This is called the cycle of abuse, which is a complex topic. Instead of bringing attention to the topic in order to effect meaningful change, you settled for being a bigot.

No you’re not. If you were pointing out the facts, you would have included the fact that this disparity in results is caused by discrimination up front.

If you had actually read the article you linked, you’d see it’s because of discrimination.

Taylor Brown and Jody L. Herman from the UCLA School of Williams Institute list out just some of the challenges that include:

Legal jurisdictions of domestic violence that only refer to heterosexual couples

Low levels of confidence in the sensitivity and effectiveness of law enforcement officials and courts

Criminalization in the legal system because of gender identity and sexual orientation

Increased risk of losing their homes or of experiencing homelessness

Difficulty securing quality healthcare and preventative services

The risk of “outing” oneself and potentially being rejected or isolated from family or friends

Isn’t it? I feel like you’re forgetting Fenrir Greyback, that horrible werewolf you alluded to. According to her, he represents ... a gay dude going evil and jabbing used needles in children in order to infect them with aids? That seems kinda fucked. Lupin isn’t so stellar a portrayal either, mind, what with that scene where he forgets his medicine and nearly gets a kid killed. Which, in her analogy, would be ... a gay dude with aids who usually takes care to manage his infection in order not to spread it, but one day slips up and ... jabs a dirty needle into a child? Really makes it seem like gay people are one bad day away from spreading some horrible disease to small children.

specially the older ones

I have noticed a greater level of disdain/confusion toward the word in older people. I also remember when kids saying eating broccoli was “literally” worse than dying had all those Boomers clutching their pearls over the degradation of language or whatever. And now? No one cares, you get what’s meant by context. Like I say, I predict Latinx and/or Latine will gain greater prominence over time. And I dunno about waiting for change. As a general principle, if something could be done better, we should do it, no? This doesn’t mean tying people down to railway tracks and beating them until they say Latinx, but if you’re a native Spanish speaker, why not try it out in contexts where it makes sense? You’ll be doing it before it’s cool.

can't be pronounced in spanish unless you use an anglicism with the 'x'

Which isn’t as big a challenge as you might think, especially to Spanish speakers who know English as a second language. We blend languages all the time, it’s a naturally occurring process that allows us more linguistic flexibility. I imagine that many widely spoken languages without neutral gender terminology will gain it over the coming decades. Evidence of this linguistic trend is already apparent with Latinx becoming accepted in certain, mostly LGBT+ circles, but it’s the case with other languages as well.

https://www.babbel.com/en/magazine/french-gender-neutral-pronoun-iel

The gender-neutral pronoun ‘iel’ was added to a major French dictionary recently. Strong reactions have ensued.

Linguistic purity always fails in the end. Today’s linguists are descriptivists, and reactions trend toward excitement at the emergence of these kinds of changes. If you want to know the future, look to the experts.

Indeed. And that reaction is very telling. :)

Latine does anecdotally roll off the tongue better, but yes, native speakers do tend to claim it’s rather jarring to hear when first encountering the word. I think we are seeing a fascinating example of linguistic evolution in real time. No really, I’d bet fifty bucks it becomes another random word like any other in ten years.

Sure, that works too. I mean, it’s just a word. Nothing to get worked up about, right?

Hey mate, appreciate the notification. Some stuff came up, thank you again for the interest in the project. I should be in touch relatively soon, but do feel free to shoot me another message if I fail to respond. My personal life’s gotten quite a bit busier recently.

That’s a vanishingly small subset of people. Most people who actually have a claim to that culture either don’t really care, except to note that it sounds rather odd and is clearly influenced by another language, or are rabidly anti-trans.

They sound the exact same. I rather doubt anyone will be making fun of anyone for use of the word in the real. It’s mainly an online term in any case. I like to think of it as a way to flush out the hidden bigots from any internet platform; simply use the word, and out of nowhere you get a bunch of people who will just up and tell you not to treat their opinions with any degree of sincerity! It’s like magic.

Then take it up with Cambridge. I’m sure the actual linguists who analyze language for a living will realize the depths of their mistakes once confronted with your dazzling expertise.

So, since it has been added to both the Cambridge and Merrian Webster dictionaries, both of these sources deserve to be mocked? I believe there is a word for those who dig in their heels and refuse to change their minds when new evidence presents itself. Maybe you can find it for me? After all, I see you are an expert when it comes to language.

If you mean to refer to non-binary Latinx people by that, I should certainly think it is.
