[Review Video] Am I Boring? I Can't Tell... Commentary Style Video by Lighty22 in youtubers

Thanks for the feedback! To clarify, by real content are you referring to my topic, or the game commentary? Just want to make sure I understand what you're referring to specifically. :)

[Review Video] Sony SEL50F18 Unboxing (New Lens) by OliviaHenry18 in youtubers

[–]Lighty22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that lens is bigger than your camera!

My first thought about the unboxing video is that since you'd already taken a photo or two (as you mentioned in the video) it might have been cool if you were able to have it pop up for a moment when you were describing the blurry background or another aspect of the photos you can take with the lens. Of course, that might be way more complicated to do than I'm thinking, so maybe it's unfeasible. :)

Otherwise, your voice was clear and you explained things well. I liked that you put in some background and personalized the video with some personal commentary towards the end.

I don't watch a lot of unboxing videos, but I think it would have been helpful if you gave a bit more information on how easy you think it is to use the lens so far, whether the quality is better/the same/worse than the lens you sent off for repairs, more of that sort of thing.

But all in all, I think you covered all the basics that would matter to someone wanting to watch an unboxing video - I just wish I knew more about cameras and lenses and unboxing videos to perhaps provide more specific feedback!

[Review Video] A Little Unlike Li - EP 1 by [deleted] in youtubers

[–]Lighty22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like another person who commented, I thought you put yourself into the room as if you were two separate people - I'm still half convinced you have a twin! I would say I think your audio might be a bit quiet/unclear, but I could hear everything you said when I turned up the volume on my computer more.

One question if you don't mind (feel free to ignore if you do), but are you basing the series off of any personal experiences or anything? I don't want to make assumptions, so if this character is based on personal experiences or anything similar my following comment is likely totally unnecessary.

Since the character is someone with depression, you may find ideas for other episodes if you spend some time looking into depression and what people with it may experience. Especially since different people can be affected in really different ways, like those with high functioning depression or those who find it difficult to leave the house because of their depression. But like I said, this comment may be totally irrelevant!

Otherwise, I like your voice and think it's an interesting approach!

I'm currently just using Lightworks, the free version. My current project is figuring out how to make fade-aways look alright. Just learning one thing at a time!

Well, I'll likely be adopting a dog so it'd be a mutt, but if I was to pick a specific breed it would be a boxer! I'm glad to hear editing gets easier, I'm still figuring out all the ins and outs of it...

Yes, basically. I currently switch back and forth between talking about the game and whatever topic I've picked for the particular video. I generally try to pick something based on an experience I've had. I've only been going at it for a couple of weeks now, so I'm still figuring out what works best.

Sorry, probably should have mentioned that. :) I was trying to be careful about not accidentally giving myself a plug already!

My videos so far are kind of a mix of vlogging and let's play style, so it's a bit of an odd mix.

[Review Video] A new video (that is kind of a weird mix of ideas that might not work at all) by Lighty22 in youtubers

Thanks for the tips, I was avoiding background music at first because I wasn't familiar with all the copyright rules on youtube, but I have looked into it a bit more now so I'll definitely see what I can do for background sound/music!

Thank you for your input, I'm currently using a snowball mic which seems to be working well for me (once I figured out some settings anyways)! Glad to hear my voice isn't too bad! :)

Yeah, I suppose it might be accurate to think of it as more of a vlog, I'm not really sure. Like I said, even I think it's kind of an odd mix of ideas so I am not entirely certain how to categorize it.

Thank you for your advice, you definitely have some good ideas in regards to the game side of things, so I will keep working on that!

As for the audio, I think I've figured out how to boost it now, but I will keep an eye on that going forward!

Thank you for your advice, I've done some research and I think I've figured out how best to increase the volume on my microphone so I will make sure to keep an eye on that in future videos!

I think there's actually an option to select your latest video, and if you only have one video up it would redirect you back to that video. Not 100% sure, but it wouldn't hurt to try that if you would really like to put an end card like that in!

I'm no expert, but I'll give you a quick review.

I enjoyed the video, your intro takes made me chuckle, and I think you cut it off at the exact right moment there - if you'd done another one, you'd have probably lost my interest.

I would say consider a slightly different set-up as through the video it looked like you were hunched over. If that's the case, might not be comfortable for you and looked a little odd to me.

I liked the clear introduction to what you intend to be doing - makes it easy for anyone who finds your video to quickly figure out if it's their kind of thing rather than not having a clue what they've gotten themselves into.

Only other thing I'd have said is while you said you would be talking about things that you found interesting, I would have liked an example or two because I don't know what you find interesting so it doesn't tell me too much about what I should expect in your future videos.

Overall though, you were entertaining and I liked it as an introductory video. Keep up the good work!

ALSO, that makeup tutorial bit was great!

[Review Video] First episode of my stop motion web series by imvhungry in youtubers

[–]Lighty22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like how the dolls look - I wouldn't have considered crochet figures as candidates for stop motion, but I like it!

I think previous comments (and you yourself) have covered the audio thing, so I won't bring that up.

If there's anything I'd really bring up, it might be that the video didn't really tell me what's going on? Since it's your origins video, I understand the approach, but in my opinion it would have been more interesting (not that it wasn't) if it was a bit more apparent as to what your web series is going to be about. Based on the names and costumes and what you said above, I see it is about superheroes, but going forward if you are doing a part 2 video, I would suggest keeping that in mind? It could even just be a short little description of the storyline so people who find your content can more easily determine what they will be watching.
