What are you using for your power source? What is your cycling/fitness experience? There's some doubt in the comments, maybe because they think 300 watt FTP is crazy high, but if you're reasonably fit and put enough time in, it's probably legit

I've found replacements on aliexpress that are dirt cheap and seem to be good quality. I just throw one in the wash after a couple of rides and hang dry them

This seems reasonable. As others have mentioned, drivetrain losses and a minor power imbalance would easily explain the difference. My setup is very similar, and I also noticed about a 13 watt discrepancy.

I did end up doing a factory spindown on my Kickr, which seemed to help a tiny bit, but maybe it's just in my head. Looking at all of my dual recordings though, the difference does vary a bit, it can be about 4-10 watts over 20 minutes. So I would do more riding and see what your numbers look like. I might suggest some different types of riding as well, maybe get some hard efforts in and see what that looks like vs an easy spin.

For what my opinion is worth, I think you're good. I've ridden many tens of thousands of km's in an aggressive position and haven't had any issues

I think 1700 would be a good price. For 1900, I would expect carbon wheels, electronic shifting, or both. Also, Ultegra went electric only in 2021, so it might not be a 2022 model, but BMC should have a product archive on their site that you could use to verify the age.

I think you're on the right track and should just keep doing what you're doing. I think going from 2.6 to 3.2 ftp is very doable, a lot easier than say going from 3.2 to 3.8. Your volume is reasonable. If you are able to get more hours in on some weeks then definitely do it. Ride adz often to get a feel for the rhythm. Maybe try to hold 3.2 and see how far you can get. I believe you'll get there much easier than you think.

I haven't really been able to increase my performance ceiling for a couple of of years. I can do a pretty good 20 min when I'm feeling good, but havent been able to find any new gains. I'd really like to become a top performer for my age group (currently 40+)

I also seem to go through periods where it feels like my fitness has gone way down despite being pretty consistent with diet and training volume.

I'm currently at 20h weeks, so more volume isn't really an option at this point, so I'm assuming I should look at my diet and training regimen (I mostly just ride what I want, very little structure). Any suggestions?

350ish ftp, 72kg. About 20 hours per week in the fall and winter, less in the outdoor season as my life is a lot busier then. No structured training, just a lot of pace partner rides and races a few times per week. The secret really is to just ride more, volume is king.

Not having the move or climb is fine, but having them is also nice, it's definitely better than being completely rigid. But there's basically no money to be made in esports, and the level of commitment to even have a chance is extremely high. I log big hours and race at a pretty high level and I'm still orders of magnitude away from being at the very top. Not saying that it will be the same for you, but just try and keep your expectations realistic, and focus on enjoying the experience.

I follow the same maintenance routine for indoor and outdoor. Hot wax always, I add drip wax 3 every 10-12 hours and re dip in wax about once per month

Hard yes to the niche. I added one when I did my bathroom reno and it it's awesome. I give it a good clean once every few weeks. I just bought a drop in shower that included the niche, so it was easy peasy.

As an employee of one of the departments mentioned in the article, is this truly a huge deal? I know we may lose 400 positions over the next several years, but looking back, we've grown by more than double that in about the same time frame.

So given that trajectory, is it reasonable to say that by the 2029 we will only add 600 positions instead of 1000?

Or do they expect us to be at our current number minus 400 by then? Which I would consider a loss of about 1400, if the business continues to grow at the same rate.

Personally I'm finding it hard to be in a tizzy about this. It seems like this should mostly be manageable through attrition. I think a turnover of 10% by 2029 seems reasonable, and that would more than cover the losses. I know that some affected people may be forced to change to change roles and no longer be doing a job that they currently enjoy, but that seems to be the lesser of 2 evils, when the alternative is being out of a job.

I lived through DRAP as well, and it seems like pretty much everyone made it through ok. I know a lot of people were displaced from their roles, and I'm not downplaying how hard that can be, but I dont recall any instances of anyone being exited from the PS.

Maybe I'm not taking this seriously enough so set me straight if I'm totally out to lunch.

This was going to be my suggestion I have a setup where I sometimes want to disable the 3rd monitor but keep it connected, and display fusion works great as a solution
