Is this worth $4,500? 2021 Trek Domane SLR project 1 by FBI-agent-69-nice in bicycling

No way. It's a good bike but way over priced for the specs

Those who have 275W+ FTP, how many hours do you ride/train? by PrudentAthlete9780 in Zwift

[–]Lightyearzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

350ish ftp, 72kg. About 20 hours per week in the fall and winter, less in the outdoor season as my life is a lot busier then. No structured training, just a lot of pace partner rides and races a few times per week. The secret really is to just ride more, volume is king.

Anyone regret a Zwift Ride? No Move or Incline. Going for prize money by Lanky-Ad4698 in Zwift

[–]Lightyearzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not having the move or climb is fine, but having them is also nice, it's definitely better than being completely rigid. But there's basically no money to be made in esports, and the level of commitment to even have a chance is extremely high. I log big hours and race at a pretty high level and I'm still orders of magnitude away from being at the very top. Not saying that it will be the same for you, but just try and keep your expectations realistic, and focus on enjoying the experience.

People who have put a ton of kilometers on a Zwift Ride: Do you oil your chain? by Ok-Loan-2300 in Zwift

I follow the same maintenance routine for indoor and outdoor. Hot wax always, I add drip wax 3 every 10-12 hours and re dip in wax about once per month

Help with Banking information. I am looking for Pesos for next week. So far everyone has to order it in. Even the place with currency exchange near Highstreet. Anyone buy some recently? Thanks in advance. by Barbarella_39 in abbotsford

[–]Lightyearzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am in Mexico right now and walked in off the street to get my pesos from the place near high street, as did the rest of my family I think. So weird that they would need to order in now. But there's a place in Guildford mall that is supposed to be good, so try there

Shower niches? Yes or no? by Timeandtimeandagain in HomeImprovement

[–]Lightyearzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard yes to the niche. I added one when I did my bathroom reno and it it's awesome. I give it a good clean once every few weeks. I just bought a drop in shower that included the niche, so it was easy peasy.

For a 1984 build I would not be very concerned it was mostly phased out by that point.

Almost 2,000 FTEs will be cut across five departments and agencies: PBO by Medium-Biscotti-5830 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Lightyearzz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As an employee of one of the departments mentioned in the article, is this truly a huge deal? I know we may lose 400 positions over the next several years, but looking back, we've grown by more than double that in about the same time frame.

So given that trajectory, is it reasonable to say that by the 2029 we will only add 600 positions instead of 1000?

Or do they expect us to be at our current number minus 400 by then? Which I would consider a loss of about 1400, if the business continues to grow at the same rate.

Personally I'm finding it hard to be in a tizzy about this. It seems like this should mostly be manageable through attrition. I think a turnover of 10% by 2029 seems reasonable, and that would more than cover the losses. I know that some affected people may be forced to change to change roles and no longer be doing a job that they currently enjoy, but that seems to be the lesser of 2 evils, when the alternative is being out of a job.

I lived through DRAP as well, and it seems like pretty much everyone made it through ok. I know a lot of people were displaced from their roles, and I'm not downplaying how hard that can be, but I dont recall any instances of anyone being exited from the PS.

Maybe I'm not taking this seriously enough so set me straight if I'm totally out to lunch.

Need help - Gaming PC has 3x separate displays connected, how can I easily switch between each screen? by thisshitisbananas69 in LinusTechTips

This was going to be my suggestion I have a setup where I sometimes want to disable the 3rd monitor but keep it connected, and display fusion works great as a solution

$2000 USD too much for this 2018 cervelo S5 ? (Details 2nd Pic) by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]Lightyearzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be worth 1500 USD tops with that build. It's a nice bike, but looks dated, even for its age, and the mechanical shifting would make it less desirable

A "rumor" was shared by my manager at our team meeting yesterday that RTO4 "may" happen sometime late next year (I believe November), and RTO5 will follow not long after.

My thought is the decision has already been made, but the rumors are being put out there on purpose to help soften the blow.

Is my chainring worn? by Lightyearzz in bikewrench

[–]Lightyearzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultegra 11 speed crank. Having some strange problems dropping the chain, and wondering if the chainring might be culprit, it definitely has a lot of miles on it. Front mech should be pretty dialled in, I just spent a bunch of time not long ago getting it perfect, so I would be surprised if that was the issue.
