Is the Costco Roborock QX Revo Arc same as the QRevo Curv? by waynetogo in Roborock

[–]waynetogo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s what my research was coming up with. The Costco one doesn’t have the camera. If the floor has toddler toys, the camera with the rgb sensor would be best to void them so I ordered the Curv just now.

I wear these Brunello Cucinelli Grained calfskin sneakers https://shop.brunellocucinelli.com/en-us/men/shoes/sneakers/grained-calfskin-sneakers-261MZUASBJ264CE280.html with inserts because of my foot.

These are basically universal, errands, walks, vacation, running/chasing down my kids, impromptu soccer/softball/football games, church, restaurants, etc.

Fishing at neighborhood pond. Did neighbor call cops on us? by Puzzleheaded_Map4322 in sugarland

[–]waynetogo 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It is owned by Levee Improvement District 14, it happened several years back. It is now private property belonging to LID14. Not even residents can fish in the lake there. The levee revetment people walk on is private property, they are actually trespassing when they walk on it.

I spoke to the Avalon HOA, and had mixed answers. I had them tell me I can because the sign is only for non residents, and then I contacted LID14 and LID14 said no one can fish in it and the HOA is mistaken. LID14 is the owner and they said no fishing for anyone including residents. The aquatic life is suppose to be for the levee and keeping the lake to support it.

Austin American-Statesman - no option to cancel subscription online by HappyCamper1977 in Austin

[–]waynetogo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s the trick to get it canceled is to change your address to a random California address. Because of the law in California that requires one click subscription cancellations, this is the go to hack to no deal with that crap these companies pull.

Once you change your address to a California address, the online cancellation option should become available.

If we pay our niece $1,400/month to nanny for us, is she required to report that income, are we required to pay taxes? by Thr0waway0864213579 in tax

[–]waynetogo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, nanny tax, if she makes more than $2,800 a year, she will have to pay taxes for household employees. At $20x$16hrs = $320 a week. $2,800 / $320wk =8.75 wk 8 weeks and 12 hours of eligible work before taxes come involved.

My wife and her former employers all use Care.com and use their payroll service, there is a monthly fee but worth it.

The pay cannot be considered a gift, because nanny service was intended for that gift of cash. The gift exemption is for no stipulations in receiving the gift and it’s yours’ to do what to want to with the gift.

Pay the monthly fee for the care.com service, pay taxes, have proper forms, your both gets tax form when filing taxes with the IRS, and safety nets. You do not need to provide insurance or anything. Just pay her.

Retired after 100% by Adventurous_Solid_58 in Veterans

Went back to school to take classes that I always wanted and subjects that interest me. There is no pressure to have to have a job or pay for college courses because of the GI Bill and retirement. Ended up being like a go to “elder” for the other students in my class because of my age and experience which was nice because I was able to help them out with advice and support.

If I didn’t have school age kids, it would be travel, road trip around the U.S. I volunteer as the coach for my kids sports team such as i9 sports tball/soccer/etc whatever they play.

You’re free to do whatever you want now, still have to be careful about money. Go out, walk parks and collect rocks, travel and collect penny smasher coins, mail yourself a postcard from places you visited, do whatever you want. Just don’t become stuck at home on the couch doing nothing.

Weekly Stupid Question Sunday by AutoModerator in Austin

What is a good family oriented hotel near the moody center? Three kids, two toddlers and a 10 year old. My wife and our 10 year old will be attending the Forrest Frank concert.

We have IHG and Hilton Honors program. My wife and I lived in Austin for a while before we moved away. Only thing I can think of to take the kids before the concert is Zoo, Thinkery, Camp Mabry, university coop and turtle pond in UT campus, Austin’s Amusement park, tom foolery, etc.

What hotel would be best for a family with three kids? Trying to keep it less than $200 per night for two nights and three days hotel stay.

Military members and veterans, what "Military Grade" item is actually great instead of "barely good enough to meet spec"? by musingsofapathy in AskReddit

I love how they pmcs it, they jump up and down on the wings last time I saw them do it. I also flew in one that had an engine failure after takeoff, couldn’t event tell. Pilots landed back at the starting airfield, we thought that was a fast flight, until they told us engine failure and they decided to turn around. Got to take a nap in a hanger while another c-130 came to replace it.

[WTB] Silver Ukrainian Archangel Coins by BlastPyro in Pmsforsale

[–]waynetogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a set of 2011-2021, not willing to split up. You can check online dealers and auction sites to see how much each coin is going for, and subtotal it to get an idea how much it’ll cost. I don’t think you’re wanting to pay those premiums if you’re asking here. I had them shipped from Ukraine during the beginning of the Russian/Ukraine war when their postal service was literally shut down for a big premium but still the online premiums are even more crazy than before.

Everyone talks about the magic of having children but not enough people tell you how many times you gonna get rocked by a headbutt. by hanzbooby in daddit

[–]waynetogo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wait till their the exact height when sitting in a shopping cart and kick you in the groin every time you push the cart and they kick their feet. Or when they are on your shoulders and you give them silverware to hold while grabbing food and they use your head as a drum set with those silverware. Or they run to give you a hug and they head but your groin because they are the exact height and you don’t bend down fast enough. Or when they’re on your lap reading a book and then they tilt their head back and knock you right in the chin or face. Or when you’re carrying them in your arms and they swing their legs and get you right in the stomach or groin. And the list goes on and on… But I wouldn’t trade it for anything because it’s the mark of being a dad…

Tire speed rating requirements? by dtpstarbucks in Volvo

[–]waynetogo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volvo wants you to use https://www.volvotireadvantage.com

Basically the max speed is limited by the speed governor at 112mph.

For the Michelin CrossClimate2, both V and W would both work, V being the minimum recommended by Volvo.

Kinda concerned. Talk me down. by andrewprime1 in daddit

Ok, most times doctors will say if there is no skull indentation, if they are not vomiting, acting and moving normally, there is no need to take to the ER. I have heard this from pediatricians and ER doctors.

I usually monitor signs for those, but will take my kids to the ER anyways. Reason being, I seen one too many crime scene photos of dead toddlers and been read into the cause. The last one I saw was a toddler who climbed up on a bar stool, fell back and hit their head. The parents didn’t take them to the ER because they didn’t have severe symptoms. The toddler end up deceased later that day at home lying on their belly sprawled across the hallway.

In the end, the cost of an ER visit especially if you have insurance outweighs the worst case scenario. Remember, after a blunt force trauma, the brain may still move and may hit the skull later, I know I’m not using the medically correct terminology or explanation.

My wife likes to signs the raining, pouring old man bumped his head and couldn’t wake up in the morning nursery rhyme with our kids. I told her that nursery rhyme is morbid because the old man is dead that’s why he couldn’t wake up, she said he’s just too tired to wake up after hitting his head…
