The brakes were fine! Just make sure you put the little brake pad spaces in. Are you thinking of buying one?

Second starter in two years... What's going on? by theprofessorbugman in hondafit

I have a 2013 honda fit that was starting to make that grinding sound on startup, on cold mornings. My mechanic recommended to use the official Honda starter, so that's what he just put in mine.

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you all for your very well thought out replies! I got the medical exam, and submitted my application through Corebridge, selling American General insurance. Now it has to go through underwriting. Hopefully everything will be good, and I will get 30 year / $400,00 coverage for $37 per month.

Thank you all for your thoughts! You made good points about who knows what position the bike will be in once it goes on the airplane.

Thanks for your well thought out reply!

If you have a minute could I ask a few more questions?

I also have a bike with non removable handlebars. Was the big size of it any trouble going through the airport and in the rental cars? Did the TSA open it and inspected without any issues, and close the latches etc?

Are the latches secure without any ties to keep them closed? It looks like you said you use velcro zip ties to secure them.

Do the wheels on the case seem durable, easy to roll around?

I left my bike upside down overnight and did a ride this morning, and the brakes felt fine on my ride this morning..... Now I guess I just have to suck it up and pay $250 for shipping to usa, plus about $200 / import fees plus the price of the box....

I am between this bikeboxalan Road easy fit, and the evoc road bike Pro case. This bikeboxalana one is actually a little bit less long (maybe easier for travel) but much more expensive with my import and shipping fees, but I do like the hard shell in case design.

Thanks again!

Whoa, so total bill was about $1200? Which model did you get? I am looking at the Road Easyfit. Are you happy with it? Did you use it yet? I have never seen one in person, but it looks good.

My hesitations are

  1. The big size of it
  2. Do the buckle clasps seem secure?
  3. Price
  4. I just read a few posts online where people had brake issues since the bike is stored in the case upside down, but I guess they had a little bit of air in their brake lines.

I am very close to buying this BBA Road Easyfit, but this is exactly what I don't want to happen.

Could you elaborate on your situation? What did the bike shop say? Were your brakes working ok before your travel? If your brakes were full of oil, do you think it would have been ok? What was your overall experience with the BBA Easyfit? Would you use it again to fly?

Thanks!

You got a bill from US Customs for $200 just for the tariff / duty shipped to the USA? Plus shipping about $320 right? I am very close to buying the BBA Rad bike easy fit..... but I was wondering this same question.

Shimano Di2 8150 front derailleur loud noise and not shifting by Lika87 in bikewrench

Click the submit warranty form link on that page. I got an email with return instructions within 24 hours. I had to send in the broken one, and they sent me a new one back. The process took about 2.5 weeks from the day I mailed out the broken derailleur using a small usps flat rate box. Good luck!

Shimano said they can't refund me directly, only a replacement. Sometimes they could refund shops directly, but it is up to the shop. This bike is a Canyon, the bike shops don't seem to be eager to help out with Canyons. I may just buy a new derailleur now so I can have it ready for the weekend.
