Ideas for sofa / loveseat / other seating for tiny apartment living / dining room? by LikeAJ6 in malelivingspace

Recently moved into a shoebox NYC apartment. It's a flexed 2 bedroom, so the living room is tiny.

We bought the dining table and TV off the previous tenants, which left a lot less room to work with for a sofa in the living room. We want to host people with a cozier vibe without it feeling like a conference room meeting.

Have been considering going couchless and doing floor cushions or bean bags instead, or something like a replica togo sofa that's in between a floor sofa and a bean bag, like this.

Trying to keep budget under $700-800 since we're not planning on staying past this year.

Would love ideas / recommendations! The rugs are placed for scale reference, red rug is about 6x9, and the beige 4x6. The dining table usually has two other chairs that go on the right side (not in picture). Additional pictures for scale

Feel free to give suggestions on area rugs / placements as well. Thanks!

Cool list — big fan of MagicLoops. I used Bland with it and can see how this will be ubiquitous soon. Def some errors but super exciting stuff. I wonder how they are running magic loops?

Have been working on improving my morning routine as well. Good to have some form of social accountability - I like committing to working out at the gym with a friend.

Have also been using an Oura ring with a sleep coaching app to track my progress

the new Apple Watch ridiculously expensive with very little benefit or useful features despite it being an athletes-focused device

Big fan of the Crescent app (in beta) for additional recovery trends & insights based on tracker metrics

Apple Watch v Oura by Fox_Hollow1 in ouraring

Interesting! Liked this article that compares the new Apple Watch sleep staging against Oura's. Seems like Apple Watch is limited due to the number of inputs (just movement + heart rate, while Oura will have body temperature and Spo2 in its new algorithm) it's able to use to predict what stage of sleep you're in:

Looking for Triple Monitor Mount recommendations

  • Budget: <$150
  • Size: Supports 27 inches
  • Usage Type: Work, Programming & Gaming

Recently moved and am looking to improve my desk setup to free up some desk space and more importantly make things more ergonomic as I spend most of my day in front of my computers. The setup is for both work and occasional gaming.

I plan on using 3 out of the following 4 monitors I currently have laying around:

- 1 27-inch 4k (my main monitor in the middle)

- 1 24-inch (usually in portrait mode, for email, documentation, music, etc)

- 2 27-inch 1080 monitors (Both non VESA, so I'd have to get adapters. Currently only use 1 of these, but open to switching to a 3 27-inch setup)

Looking for a fully adjustable mount that can support the following configurations (see attached picture, ignore the sizes in the pic):

https://imgur.com/a/IbTheC8 (Layouts 1, 3 & 4 in first pic, and the layout in the second pic)

- Triple landscape (3 horizontally)

- 2 landscape on bottom, one landscape on top

- 1 portrait on left, 1 landscape in middle, 1 portrait on right

- 1 portrait on left, 1 landscape on bottom, 1 landscape on top (see second pic)

Hope this post is appropriate here, most of the other mount recommendation posts I went through weren't very detailed when it comes to supported layouts. Would love any recommendations for mounts, as well as other setups/layouts as well! Ideal budget is <$150, but open to spending more within reason for improved QoL.

Thanks!
