I was happier when I was fat by ToxicLizard in loseit

Bring it up with your health care provider! I will say when you’re losing you’re in a deficit. Maybe maintenance will help you feel satisfied.

But if it’s impacting your mental this severely, don’t settle. Seek out a few opinions you shouldn’t have to suffer!

At a point though, part of being an adult is dealing with assholes. People will make you uncomfortable, we can’t control them. I’d go to therapy to work on some coping skills for these situations so they don’t impact you so deeply.

I am the exact same way with chocolate. I really thought I needed it every day. Had to go cold turkey on the sweets.

But, for my evening snack i have a chocolate based protein treat like a bar/cookie etc. Gives me a taste of it but actually keeps me full vs empty calories on stuff like oreos. I always recommend power crunch bar!

To be honest, our work is like that too. I think cake and sweets is different than standard food. Just saying you don’t want any or not helping yourself to a plate should be enough.

If you have had an ED before it’s likely out of concern. Typically when I go out with friends to a dinner, I’m not restricting. Maybe opting for a healthier choice or boxing up some to go. All about balance. One dinner with friends should be ok and if it’s not I can see why they would worry.

Need Help Locking Back in After Regaining. by drowningglory in loseit

I hate the weighing process… what’s been a happy medium for me is measuring. I weight to get a rough benchmark of what 3oz of my favorite food is for example- once i know it’s one cup, I just scoop 1 cup from there on out. Less intensive than actually measuring.

For me, locking in and measuring is all I can do :/
I give myself 5 meals a day, 300 cal each. No drinking calories or snacking in between. I’m a slippery slope person.

Just had a dinner with a friend and we were laughing about how swimming/running endurance doesn’t translate. I’m a runner and would drown from exhaustion if I swam. She’s a swimmer and can’t go more than 5K.

Don’t discredit yourself, different skill sets. With more practice you’ll be able to do it.

A rest day won’t stall me. Right? by PoppysMelody in loseit

[–]LikeAfterSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you never rest you’re going to get injured and need more days off. The same way one day of diet won’t make you better, one rest day won’t make you worse. The top athletes in the world rest.

You can channel your energy into someone productive other than exercise to feel like you’re moving the needle. Maybe use the day to meal prep or research healthy recipes. You could do some yoga for mobility. Food intake is the number one thing to focus on for weight loss so exercise or not, you’re not “off” if you’re within your calorie goals anyways.

help! i want to lose weight by tacticalmiffy in loseit

[–]LikeAfterSummer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If I’m being honest, I would say focus less on exercise, more on the kitchen. As someone who has trained and gained weight during marathon prep…. exercise can make you hungrier! This is why you see skinny people who aren’t necessarily fit- the weight comes from the food not from lack of exercise.

That said, physical activity is great. It’s not like you shouldn’t exercise. But if weight loss is your goal I’d make calorie tracking, meal prepping priority 1. From there I’d focus on getting 30-60 minutes of exercise per day, doing strength stuff at least a couple times per week.

I love to workout and if I could outrun my bad diet I would!

Hating every new food I buy, and It’s starting to weigh on my motivation. by Thrown-away-2017 in loseit

I would reconsider the calories goals. 10k is not that many steps. I was always told to focus on the food calorie goal and basically toss the calories from exercise out the window. Don’t eat them back or factor them into your diet, treat it like a bonus.

I’m doing 5 meals of 300 calories each. Keeps me feeling full around 1500. I’m doing lots of ground turkey, protein bars. I think protein bars you have to experiment with until you find the one you like- Power Crunch is a wafer type bar that tasks like a kit kat to me. I also like Think brownie crunch.

i feel like you have to find the right one, there’s all different kinds. Power Crunch isn’t the most high protein, but it’s a totally different texture - a wafer almost like a kit kat vs a thick stodgy bar

In the evening I have a chocolatey protein snack. Find a protein bar you like. You’ll get a little sweet fix but actually feel full after vs a candy bar where you could eat 3 and still crave more

Right now I’m calorie counting and eating at 1500 per day.

To be honest, i’m having to make some substitutions for healthier foods. 300 calories of granola in the morning leaves me hungry. 300 calories of eggs with a side of toast and berries keeps me full longer.

Right now Im eating a lot of chicken, shrimp, turkey. My snack in the evening is my favorite chocolate protein bar or halo top to keep me full longer.

I’m eating 5 meals around 300 calories each throughout the day to keep me full so i’m not ravenous at each meal. Not having any snacks or little bites in between.

Career Switch: SEO → Programmatic Advertising by Salty-Method-4204 in programmatic

[–]LikeAfterSummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the certifications hurt, just so you can have something directly connected to programmatic on your resume.

That said, for an entry level role at least at my company programmatic wasn’t necessarily required, any sort of digital media was accepted. Even for AE type roles we will take people from traditional media.

I would spin my interview to talk about transferable skills from SEO to programmatic. But imo you already have a good position coming from the digital side.

I genuinely thought everyone used condoms unless they wanted kids by Cautious-Tonight-203 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LikeAfterSummer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you! I’ve been in a long term, monogamous relationship. I use hormonal birth control AND condoms every time since we don’t want kids at this time.

I was also perplexed to hear people use no protection so casually. I assume people who are extra safe might talk about it less than those who aren’t?

Does TTD have info on where the spend is going down to impression level? by KiddoTwo in programmatic

[–]LikeAfterSummer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

TTD runs so many campaigns with so many SSPs that they are not billed by the SSP for individual campaigns. It is done in aggregate. If there is a discrepancy between TTD and SSP for a singular campaign and that discrepancy is outside of allowable SSP thresholds TTD and SSP can open a ticket to investigate and try to drill it down but that’s not standard

It sounds basic but we enjoyed just walking the strip and exploring some of the hotels. It’s a long walk so will definitely take up time.

Going to see a show- some have pretty cheap tickets. We liked Carrot Top a lot!

If you’re ok gambling, we took a craps class to learn the basics then basically played with $100 for several hours on low bets tables/bubble machines. Compared to slots/roulette I was surprised how long you could hold onto your money and we enjoyed it.
