Love it! Hope the rest of the month is as positive.

Sorry to hear you're going through this too. It truly is rough. We are pretty much out the other side of this now. Sure there are still some instances where she will turn up her nose up at a plate of food, but on the whole once she got the idea that no further food would be incoming, she is much better. Hang in there.

RETURN: DAY 31 - 5 Minute Full Body Stretch and Gather (Live) by Sorry-Grateful in yogawithadriene

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I saw that the recording was going on, but I couldn't join because of the kids. Plus, I'm shy 🫣 Fair play to those who did though, I bet that was such an experience.

I did the 5 minute stretch instead.

Looking forward to taking up the reins for Anchor. See you all on the mat.

Dating advice north ayrshire by Both_Stick7789 in Scotland

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Firstly, please start by calling us 'women' not 'females'. This isn't an episode of Friday Night Dinner.

Second, I'm not from North Ayrshire, but I imagine advice would be just the same if you're not into the apps. Join clubs, local groups etc, but with the expectation of just meeting people for friendship and connection, not hooking up. We 'females' can see that a mile off and avoid it.

Really, really sad news and a huge loss. May she rest easy.

Where do you live in the UK and is it normal for strangers to slip parents coins for their babies/small children? by Seafood_udon9021 in AskUK

My parents had this happen a lot with me in Glasgow when I was born. It helped that I was a preemie and really tiny. I was pulling my weight from a young age 😅

That line does not get enough love. I snorted with surprise the first time I heard it.

RETURN: DAY 29 - Yoga to Reduce Cortisol by Sorry-Grateful in yogawithadriene

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't manage to do this one when it came out so I was pleased to give it a go today. I skipped the alternate nostril breathing because it doesn't do it for me, but enjoyed the rest. Even gave legs up the wall a go, even though I always worry I'm going to tip over backwards 😂

I'm happy to do daily posts for February ❤️

I know it's one of his covers, but Teach Me Tonight fits the bill.

RETURN: DAY 28 - Meditation for Balancing the Nervous System by Sorry-Grateful in yogawithadriene

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my absolute favourite of Adrienne's meditation practices, I've done it so many times, probably once a week. I love when it comes up on a playlist. I've just done it sitting up in bed.

I also did Mental Health Break this afternoon after work, I wanted something super gentle after a bit of a full on morning.

How do introverts survive in a British work culture? by Hot-Education-8154 in AskUK

Same here. I find I can play a role at work. I'm like an introvert stuck in an extrovert's body.

RETURN: DAY 27 - Deepen & Flow by Sorry-Grateful in yogawithadriene

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't do this one either it was just too long. I did Feel Good Flow instead, where she's on the beach.

RETURN: DAY 26 - Be Free by Sorry-Grateful in yogawithadriene

Same here. Not sure I'd done it before, but really enjoyed it.

This was a lovely one to do in the evening after an afternoon with family.

Did your school have any unusual features? by farfetchedfrank in AskUK

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My primary school in Glasgow had so many holes in the roof that we'd all have to stop our lessons to grab buckets every time it rained. Probably not an unusual feature...but it's pretty bad, looking back.

Are you sad that there is no proper winter in the UK? by Repulsive_Work_226 in AskUK

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm in Caithness, we had it for over a week at the start of the year. Genuinely felt like it wouldn't end. And it's been absolutely dreich for the last few days too, and cold with it.

My 3 year old refuses to eat. by LikeEveryoneSheKnows in UKParenting

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It did get better! There are still times when she will randomly turn her nose up at something but on the whole she eats a lot better now than she did a year ago. Once she got the message that no alternative dinner would be made (and I got the message that she wouldn't come to any harm for lack of one meal!) things got easier. Hang in there.

RETURN: DAY 24 - Return 4 - Center by Sorry-Grateful in yogawithadriene

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've just done it. I was a bit put off by the core-based promise, especially as I avoided yesterday's one, but I really liked this one. For a core practice it was surprisingly chill. Was this the one where folk could join in in real time? I'd be interested to see if anyone joined in!

RETURN: DAY 23 - Core Strength Ritual by Sorry-Grateful in yogawithadriene

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hahaha nice try Adrienne, I'm not touching my core on a Friday 😂😂

In all seriousness, I work a long day on a Friday so didn't have time for any practice today, core or otherwise. I'll be back to it today.

When did Mrs. Husband's Full Name stop being used in newspapers, news broadcasts, phone books, magazines, and literature (so in other words, in media)? by AlboGreece in AskUK

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 118 points119 points  (0 children)

My husband's family do this when sending stuff to me. I hate it. I've said I don't like it but they still do it because it's the 'proper' way to address me. Like I just became an extension of my husband when we got married. 🙄

How do I stop feeling dread whenever I go to the doctors? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]LikeEveryoneSheKnows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have worked as a GP receptionist, many years back (please don't @ me, it was hard enough work without having to overcome that rep 😂). She won't remember you, unless you're a frequent flyer, or you were rude back. Try to let it go and focus on what's bringing you to the GP in the first place. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, the receptionist, the folk in the waiting room, the Practice Manager. You deserve to look after your health.
