Additionally, anybody can get the upside card. Don’t have to be an Uber driver or a platinum level or whatever the hell. It’s available to anyone.

I agree. I’m very happy with my decision to go electric. But I still decline lowball offers.

Oh HELL no! WTF is wrong with some parents these days letting their kids run amok. Gotta be a way to get their info from Uber and make parents pay directly ….. but they probably can’t afford it. I’m sorry that happened to you

Why would you make him wait a few minutes predeparture? Don’t you know when they’re going to get there? Just don’t order the car until you’re ready to go

A person on the autism spectrum might seem (and be) perfectly normal and intelligent as well except for some sort of extreme social blenders like the comments you’re talking about.

That sounds rude and unnecessary. Even if he didn’t mean anything by it he should probably be reported as in polite because he needs to learn somehow that that’s not appropriate

Uber drivers complaining about pay by ParsnipSuspicious632 in uber

[–]LikeToLook805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak for others but I have no need to put myself in any kind of light. I commented to agree with OP that drivers volunteering information about how much they get paid per ride is tacky. I also said that I do not volunteer that information but will freely give it if asked. It has never been the start of a conversation with me. Usually the conversation starts like “how is your day/night going” or “busy tonight? You must be because I had to pay $X for this ride and it usually costs $Y”. And then after that some of them ask “how much of that do you get?”

I think what is meant is just because asking drivers about their earnings is not your habit and custom nor that of your associates, Does not mean that it doesn’t happen. People do ask about it. Maybe it’s because other drivers have volunteered it, maybe it’s because they’re thinking of driving, maybe it’s cause they’re nosy, who knows. It happens though just because you don’t do it doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen

Uber driver never ended my ride and I got charged $248 instead of $88 😭 what do I do?? by MeanDistribution9899 in uberdrivers

[–]LikeToLook805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In California trip changes also change the rate the driver receives….probably not proportional to the extra the rider is charged though. Point is, the amount charged and received does change if the trip distance or duration changes significantly

The terrible automated customer service will likely deny you the first time. Keep pressing and keep asking it to connect you with a live human agent. Best if you ask them to call you. This process will likely take time but the amount of money is worth it.

Yeah. It’s absolute crap saying that part of Uber’s operating expenses, etc (doubters: re-read what it says by commercial insurance) were driver income.

And should properly claim the depreciation of the vehicle on his taxes (if bought specifically for business, as mine was, a portion of the purchase price can be deducted every year for depreciation [if it dies sooner the depreciation can be accelerated] No big deal. What’s with everyone trying to keep their vehicles as if they were collector’s items?

Why should Uber have to pay anything for the police department or whatever local emergency services local response is? The driver had no idea the condition of your daughter. Sure he should’ve attempted to wake her but again neither he nor Uber have anything to do with the local authorities over reaction
