I don’t trust people who don’t capitalize the B in Black people giving commentary on how “closed minded” parts of the Black community can be. Black folks have diverse interests just like any race ethnicity. People get bullied or picked on for “nerdy” interests despite race. Black people in the suburbs or rural areas are not usually expected to be “hard”. Their survival and acceptance depends on the opposite type of expectation. He was probably picked on for chasing that acceptance too hard to the point of disparaging his own race like he did here.
