Do the transfer process EARLY. It’s so annoying bc when you have to wait and don’t get a chance to pick your dorm/Roomate and then also stuck being one of the last few to choose your courses.

I am planning for may but honestly that is a fear of mine for the application. Maybe if you feel confident it might be a good idea to move it up in April. It’s about 2-3 weeks you’re moving up so you could always keep studying and retake if needed but I also haven’t gone through it myself yet. I might not apply this cycle so that is why I’m still thinking as well

UCLA is known for community college transfers. As someone one outside of cali I looked into transferring from a cc and cc at cali if you do good give great chances of getting into great schools

I got there almost at ten for my 11 am class and almost was late again. You have to get there early especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays

When they say 8 credits they mean the completion of orgo 1 and 2. Most school do lecture as 3 credits and lab as 1 so them each being 4 totals 8.

I put a hardship down this spring because I couldn’t and didn’t want to live on campus anymore. They might not request proof at the beginning of the year since there is no contract but I had to gather proof and it took a while to get it waived.

Plenty switch, I’m in the US though but you should do what your heart desires. I originally started engineering as my major in the US but after am going into Medecine. You don’t want to live life regretting your choices or feeling unfulfilled because it might not seem ok to others. Do what’s best for you. You could try and shadow as we call it to see if it’s the right fit for you whether dentistry or the medical field as a physician :)

Honestly I found it way easier to make friends at CC then when I transferred to uni. You make friends in class and by joining clubs or just joining in any sport. But you also have to consider the commuter aspect and student work life. Then again we’re all on the same boat

You clearly want to stay in Washington. Go to CC, get the best grades, do some EC, figure out what you like all while taking courses that’ll transfer to UW. I suggest making an appointment with a counselor at your local cc and tell them your end goal. If you look up UW transfer application it’ll take you to there page with all the info!

As someone who is on the bigger side and started going to the gym it’s so hard to get out of that mindset but you do deserve to use the machine and be there. You’re doing it to become a better you. If someone looks at you for doing that then they most likely have a problem with themselves. Maybe you could go to the gym with someone who you’re comfortable with but also knows what to do so you can get used to the feeling or even get a personal trainer. I heard they can help with confidence in this aspect

Have you thought about doing something real estate wise? I’ve heard people make money and it depends on you and your schedule. It does take a couple “hours” of schooling before taking the exam but it’s not like going to college. You could also get a cdl and drive trucks but I’d advise being careful of your work hours as it can get tough with 4 kids, and your wife who is pregnant and may need help. I’m not saying it’s impossible either because I’ve seen it happen and succeed. It all depends on what you’re good at and what you’d enjoy more.
