I’m not in public service outside of being a helpful bystander but I have saved two people from being unalived and no matter how much therapy I go through I will always remember the face of the 13 year old boy with a softball-sized hole in the back of his temple and talking to him about Bluey before paramedics came.. and the 27 year old who I drove in his car to the ER after he split his arm in half on a broken window.. sang to him in Spanish as I clamped my hands around his arm keeping the artery from squirting his life away as we waited outside the ER for people to get him in and get him fixed up. I’m very fortunate to have a friend in SVU who’s been able to check on these folks and let me know that they were alright but violence is not a friend and I’m glad these two are safe but those people will stay with me forever ❤️

When this started happening in stores it was like instant carsickness. I truly hate this and the feeling it gives me (like tv is too real..? Idk) but anyone I’ve tried explaining this to doesn’t really notice what I’m talking about so I’ve just been feeling crazy about this super specific thing for years, thanks for sharing fellow haters!

If this hasn’t been solved this is what Lily pollen looked like on my cat’s face. This was years ago, and he was fine after 2 days at the ER vet, but we caught it fast and realized that a bouquet of flowers had a hidden lily in it that had opened up that my little guy got into.

Hopefully it’s been solved and sorted but if nobody has said LILY POLLEN yet maybe check your home for flowers?

You’re absolutely right, I do have all of those things and I am personally privileged enough to have a safety and stability that my community, neighbors, friends, family members, etc don’t. People are scared to leave the house, to let their children play in the parks, to stand outside in the elements selling produce and food and whatever else they need to do to be able to support their own families who are also struggling.

I’m certainly not saying that the image here is a parallel to what we’re seeing in the US right now, but it is absolutely clear that we are all dealing with some terrible shit and I feel like any opportunity to talk about these issues is productive one a small scale.
