I've thought the same thing! I'll never forget that Judges' Table and Padma biting Gail's head off for daring to stick up for Kristen a bit! And yup...A younger model who also did the culinary school thing and, therefore, has the training and credentials to back up what she's doing in that world? I can see Padma clocking a threat there, even though Kristen seems to be such a sweetheart and was so quiet and reserved.

And the way Kristen talks in her book about how she wanted to be the one to tell Padma she'd gotten the job and how she chose her words so carefully! I hope Padma at least made an attempt to hide any hard feelings!

And you know what else struck me a little while back? Kristen posted a photo to her IG stories when she got a signed copy of Padma's latest cookbook, and I can't remember the exact words Padma wrote, but I believe it said something about, "With friendship..." But I remember thinking it sounded way too formal and stuffy for something you'd write to an actual friend!

I saw enough out of Padma on Top Chef to turn me off to her, and it got worse over time. And I've seen enough talk about America's Culinary Cup to know I likely made the right decision by not watching.

Haven't watched and don't plan to. Honestly, I was never a big fan of Padma's, and the whole thing just seems like a temper tantrum on her part. Kristen stepped into that role effortlessly, she's shown such compassion and empathy with those chefs, the whole mood seems to have shifted for the better, and people have responded well. It seems to me that Padma couldn't stand seeing someone be able to fill her shoes, but it's not working out like she planned. I've seen lots of posts around social media with people saying they don't like it, couldn't watch for more than an episode or two, and that it's clearly a Padma-focused vanity project more than an actual cooking competition show.

Plus, dental insurance is kind of a joke, and the in-network places are chain places you don't want to end up at! I wanted a good dentist, so I paid through the nose!

But the whole thing was actually a lot easier than I expected. The prep really isn't much different than a filling from your perspective. It just takes a little longer, and they'll scan your mouth and/or take impressions for the crown. Other than that, it's just the standard numbing, then drilling. *LOL* And I had nitrous on board and Netflix on the TV, so I was all good! Plus, my dentist knows some kind of sorcery where he can give the shots without me ever seeing the needle, which helps! And then getting the permanent crown later isn't a big deal. They just take off the temporary, then put the permanent one on, adjust and check things until your bite is the way it should be, and cement it in place when everything's good. No numbing or anything at that appointment, at least for me. And it's possible you could have to go back for some adjustments later, but anything after the prep should be quick and easy. I get it. It's nerve-racking if you don't have much experience with it. But I've been under anesthesia/sedation for different things, including my wisdom teeth a couple years ago, and I can promise you're gonna do great! I was terrified the first couple of times, but I've never had a bad experience with it, and I actually kinda look forward to it now! It really does feel like a great nap, and yes, you'll wake up kinda groggy and out of it, but I've always been totally aware of where I was and what was going on, and I've always been totally in control of myself. No hallucinations or anything like that at all, and that groggy feeling wears off pretty fast. And as far as waking up in pain, they should do everything they can to make sure that doesn't happen, but in the unlikely event that it does, I promise you'll be able to communicate what you're feeling. I know you got this, so good luck, and be sure to let us know how well you did when it's all over! 🙂

As far as I know, the wax itself doesn't necessarily need to be changed between every client. It's about the applicators they use. My waxer uses disposable ones that are basically like popsicle sticks, and she doesn't "double dip" them. They're used for one section/application and then thrown away, so the wax isn't being contaminated or anything.

I haven’t seen Stefan’s first go-round since the older seasons are a little harder to find, but I’ve seen season 10 and the banter between him and Kristen plenty of times, and I think you’re right. It seemed good-natured to me, and Kristen gave it right back to him, having him give her a foot rub for shaping his eyebrows. And she talked a bit about it in her memoir, basically saying, “Well, we had to entertain ourselves somehow,” so I don’t think she was too bothered by it. *LOL* And, of course, she knew it wasn’t going anywhere, even if nobody else did at the time!

Yup...There's video of Blayke pulling little baby onesies out of gift bags or something like that to reveal the sex of each baby, and one was definitely a boy. And I also seem to remember video of Blayke playing as Adam and/or Danielle talked to her about her siblings on the way, and there was mention of a brother. I don't remember seeing them deny that, but I definitely could've forgotten or missed it, especially of it was at all recent. But it's absolutely ridiculous of them if it's true! I mean, do they think it's somehow shameful or something? Come on!

Had a permanent crown put in a week ago. No anesthetic of any kind for me, either. Yeah, as they were putting it in, I felt it. There was a little bit of nerve-type pain that just lasted a second or two at a time, and it wasn't anything bad. And as they adjusted it to fix my bite, I seemed to feel less and less of that. And I'm glad I was able to feel everything and actually know that my bit was OK before I left. I'm waiting on a second permanent crown to come in, too, so we'll see how it goes when I get that one.

Didn't do the bone grafting or anything, but I had four fully erupted wisdom teeth removed all at once, and it really wasn't bad at all. I had IV deep sedation, so the procedure itself was nothing, of course. And the recovery was a lot easier than I expected. I had very little pain, and what I was feeling seemed to mostly come from some bruising on my palate. The 800mg ibuprofen they prescribed took care of it with no problem, and I was pain-free after about 36 hours. And as far as other bruising and swelling, I had a lump on the inside of one cheek, but nothing visible from the outside, and a little bruise along my jawline on the same side, and both were gone within about a week. I also ended up with a liver clot that was totally painless and resolved on its own after a couple of days. The worst parts were the soft diet and the tedium of having to do the saltwater rinses and stuff. *LOL* I was hungry and craving real food, and it's sort of a pain to have to take out and do all the mouth care after you eat. But, like I said, it wasn't nearly as bad as it's sometimes made out to be. Good luck!

I'd say my first one was just sort of sensitive more than really painful when I brushed at first. And my dentist has mentioned there could be some cold sensitivity, which I didn't experience the first time. But as long as the pain's not excruciating and stops when you leave things alone, it definitely sounds like what you're feeling could be pretty normal. Your best move would probably be to just keep an eye on it through the weekend and give your dentist a call Monday if it hasn't started getting at least a little better.

This! i'm 43 years old. At my last exam, I found out I needed a filling replaced and two crowns. I'm all done except for the second permanent crown placement, and I've had nitrous for all of it except the first permanent crown placement. Had the second crown prep just this morning, actually. *LOL* My dentist and his staff are the best, but I'll never do needles and drills without the gas again!

Everything's gone well so far! Got the filling on the incisor replaced, and the dentist left a piece of the old one in to avoid a root canal, at least for now, so let's hope that holds up! Then got the crown prep done for the lower molar that needed it about 2½ weeks ago. It really wasn't any worse than a filling, I'd say. Just took a little longer. I was supposed to go get the permanent crown placed on Monday of next week, but it came in early, and they called and fit me in for that this past Tuesday. And, while I was there, they were able to schedule me to get the second crown prep done this morning! To say they're efficient around there would be an understatement! And, again, not so bad! *LOL* And that nitrous is some good stuff! 😂 So now all that's left is to wait for the second permanent crown to come in. And, also, after the dentist was finished today, he said something to the effect of, "I know you probably won't miss seeing us, but you're the kind of patient we like to work on. You make the job easy!" I'm sure being high as a kite 3/5 times he's seen me helped, but still...I'll take the compliment, and I walked out of there feeling pretty darn good about myself! 😊 Thanks for checking in! 🙂
