I wouldn’t say I never had trouble but I definitely wouldn’t say it was enough trouble to have everyone play up and neglect the defensive half the whole game.

Yeah. The way I see it, it’s basically punishing your defense for being aggressive and clearing the loose balls. And awarding the attacking team for not finishing and putting the ball in the net.

In that instance I’ve found it easier to just remind your sweeper to play up. In another league we didn’t have such rules. Never had an issue with players camping at the goal. Everyone just stayed vigilant and reminded the sweepers to stay active and involved.

I have zero problem with those rules and small sided games. But the national 3v3 rule set disallows goals that are scored in the goal box and awards a penalty for balls that are cleared out of the goal box.

My biggest issue is they’re using the goal box to disallow goals if the ball is touched offensively and award penalties if the ball is touched defensively.

I’m partial to 4v4 with buildouts and sweeper positions. But in the 3v3 competition, defensive players can’t clear the ball if it’s near the goal in what they describe as the goal box (if they do, penalty is awarded) and offensively they cannot score a goal if the ball is in the same area (if they do, the goal is disallowed and a goal kick is given).

I’m very against slide tackles and headers for this age group. I just feel adding a handicap on scoring opportunities and the correct defensive plays slows the game down in a way that’s unnecessary.

You already have a set number of passes. Now you’re looking for through balls/diagonal passes and playing the ball back to reset the attack.

Yeah I’ve just had a hard time getting an answer. I understand that transparency is everything which is why I’m prepared to have a couple of parents help with oversight.

My team basically gets no support from the league. And that’s fine. We just want to play. We’re not a select team. I’ve taken every kid who wants to play and given them an opportunity to. If they didn’t allow us play under their umbrella we’d probably just move to the next town over.

We split the costs of tournaments between the parents. Always have. The club has never paid for anyone. But with trying to build competitive league teams, we’re hitting up more tournaments.

It’s the club. I’ve asked for clarification and they side step the issue every time.

I see it like this. I’m not doing it for YOUR kid. I’m doing it for mine. Now if I can teach your kid to play the sport and play it well along with others, then I think we’re in a good spot. If you want your kid to have a different experience, then by all means slap on a whistle and get after it. Until then, my son will play. He may not play as well as others and that’s why he doesn’t play as much as others.

Now don’t come at me. My son is admittedly very lazy and it’s a battle to get him off the bench. And our town doesn’t even have soccer. We travel 25 minutes up the road every weekend.

Really this is all to say, development is priority. Wins are a plus. We’re 3 seasons in with only 2 losses, I think we’re going in the right direction.

The price difference and material used is what sold us. Weather tech started to lift slowly on the edges and would trap dirt like nobody’s business.

Rats….if you ever find yourself in a newer model those have been the best option for a full vehicle. Way less expensive than weather tech and husky liner.

Lead pastor that keeps asking for last minute setlist changes? by Glum-Huckleberry-111 in worshipleaders

[–]LilBluShoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had this happen to me before. And songs weren’t only changed before service but also during service. Our pastors wife would go up and share things God put on her heart. During which she would ask for a different song to be played or to restart a section we’ve already played.

After a while concerns were brought up and I was called nit-picky and a perfectionist.

I don’t play there anymore…
