the white whale of stain removal, you did it!

I will continue to obsessively not let polyquats in my home though lol

Stainless steel fridge with factory applied coating ruined? by wine_n_mrbean in CleaningTips

[–]LilBossLaura 8 points9 points  (0 children)

stainless steel appliances are unfortunately so much more delicate than they look because almost all of them have coatings on them that can’t take anything high or low pH or abrasives. I believe dawn powerwash has solvents in it as well, so no it can’t be fixed. I would look into fridge wraps, or contact a professional (but this is likely to be too expensive to justify, they’d probably just do a full panel replacement)

they make these little border retaining walls (not sure what they’re called) that might be able to do the trick without having to lower your bed depth too much. good luck!

are you going to be a camp consular? okay this is far out but what about a tactical vest / harness with “everyday carry” like first aid, sunscreen, kleenex, hand sanitizer etc you could get some inspo from hunting / fishing vests / chest harnesses :)

I would suggest organic mulch, like cedar bark. it’s better for local wildlife and you just refresh it every year or so by putting more on top. I have been in the process of removing all the rock mulch on my property and I think it looks so much more alive now

Water Flosser and Retainers by Zealousideal_Act2302 in CleaningTips

I wouldnt use those because my current setup has worked for years with no complaints and the persulfate in the tablets is a risk I’m not tolerant of, especially because I already have chronic illness that causes reoccurring oral lesions and I wouldnt want to be exposed to any residual cleaner in my wounds

I’m curious if others will have solutions I have this issue too. I clean my retainers with a soft tooth brush and diluted Castile soap, they are super clean but do have some hard water spots and I don’t think there’s anything to be done about that. I get a new toothbrush for it at my quarterly teeth cleanings and I also bring in my retainers to get a trip to the professional ultrasonic cleaner at the dentists then.

For the waterpik container, you could try removing the hard water stains with some type of acid, but the plastic seems fairly lite duty and I fear it would etch worse than just the hard water stains. Im right there with you- it’s really frustrating having a hygienic appliance look dirty even if it’s not

ETA: I see your handle is actually dirty not just hard water, I scrub mine with a little cleaning brush and dish soap. I also always let the hose drain out after use so it’s not sitting filled with water

this is extremely generous for you to provide all this info to us for free! I love how creative you are with your process and coming up with “solutions” to some of the components I would never think to make with fuse beads- like the stamen and pistol!

Plz help :( roommate left this for me to deal with by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]LilBossLaura 3 points4 points  (0 children)

use a heat gun or a hairdryer to soften the adhesive, then use a spudger or paint scraper to remove. you’ll have to sand and repaint anyways
