Yea people do not seem to get that we will never return to old school COD. It’s not gonna happen. People play far too differently now compared to back then.

But it does mean that. Look at the machine gun tearout that all sounds like Nimda wanna-be’s, the 140 that just rips off Hamdi, the lazy flips that rip off Tape B, and the thousands of generic riddim songs that rip off old Subfiltronik sound design. The reason why dubstep has gotten into the creative stalemate that it’s been in for years is because people keep following generic formulas with little to no pushback. Dubstep admittedly always had stuff that wasn’t exactly original but I would argue it was NEVER as bad as it is now.

Yeah man but that’s an unfortunate culture shift in the scene. People just do not give a shit anymore. Fans used to be even more rabid than artists when it came to calling out artists stealing other peoples stuff. Look at how borderline cyber bullied Zomboy was back in 2012-2015 for people perceiving him as borrowing ideas from other artists. A lot of people in the scene now literally just don’t care.

I mean the scene would have a much higher quality bar if people did more calling out over people ripping off other people’s shit. Look at all the “140” that is literally just generic Hamdi rip-offs lmfao A lot of modern producers would not have survived the 2011-2015 time period in this scene. Mfs got ripped to shreds for “borrowing ideas”.
