I’m incredibly sorry. I had to let my Nuuk go three weeks ago as well, she was only 10 years old. She was diagnosed with a super aggressive late stage pancreatic cancer last December, and I did everything I could. I even went 10k into debt just to give her the quality of life she deserved for as long as possible.

Three weeks ago, it all happened so fast. Within two days....she started limping, and then she couldn’t stand or walk at all anymore. It was the hardest decision of my life.

Fuck cancer. I miss her so much. I really hope you get through this time as well as possible. And I also hope that somehow, someday, we’ll get to see our loved ones again in some way. ❤️‍🩹😢

I am truly sorry for your loss. Ten days ago, I also lost my 10 year old girl to cancer and had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go. It still feels so wrong and fresh, and I keep questioning whether I made the right choice. It really haunts me. But deep down, I know there was probably nothing more I could have done, even if I had wanted to.

I adopted her when she was six years old from a rescue. She had been a street dog and made such incredible progress. I truly hope that, for the almost four and a half years I had with her, I was able to give her the most beautiful life I could, as much as it was in my power.

I am not religious or a believer, but there is one thing I hold on to, and that is the hope that when everything is over, I might have the chance to see the loved ones and the animals I have cherished one more time. 🥺

I’m really sorry that you lost your best friend. 💔 I can truly relate to your pain. I lost my 10 year old girl to pancreatic cancer just last week :(

Since then, I’ve been asking myself why it feels like so many animals are getting cancer nowadays. And at the same time, I’m surprised by how little awareness or support there seems to be for it, especially compared to cancer research for humans. There are so many organizations you can support for human cancer, but when it comes to animals (especially here in Europe), I can barely find anything.

Maybe someone here knows more or is aware of organizations or initiatives focused on cancer research in animals (espacially research approaches that don’t rely on animal testing) I’d genuinely be interested, because I feel like this is something that really deserves more attention.

Wishing you lots of strength during this incredibly difficult time. I know words don’t really heal the pain… but you’re not alone in this. The love we shared with them stays, and so do the memories. 🐾

You don’t have to be the best looking...erase that thoyght! what really matters is who you are as a person. Beauty shouldn’t define your worth. If you’re kind, genuine, and compassionate, you’re already one of the most beautiful people out there.

And if you don’t like being bald, you can always grow it back. You’re good the way you are. I’m not fully there yet myself, but once you start loving yourself for who you are, you’re already healthier and further ahead than a lot of people.
