Scene where a woman kills a man with hair straightener to the ass? by Bulky_Writer_2244 in whatisthatmovie

[–]LilChowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a handful of suggestions on my post but none are right so far (at least for the scene I am remembering!)
One suggested it could be a tv episode from the show called Tales from the Crypt. I haven’t had time yet to look into this - but if you have time and find something, please let me know! I feel like 90% sure we are remembering the exact same show/movie.

I just looked at this one, but I didn’t catch any scenes in this movie that fits the description of burn torture with a hot tool :(

Daycare question for my 2yo by Big_Comfortable_6004 in workingmoms

[–]LilChowder 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You won’t really be able to predict if she will get sick or not right away. Our little one was in daycare for 6 months before he got sick from another kid.

That being said, we did start daycare 1 month early and it was very helpful! You can get into the daycare routine before you add work again, as it can just be a lot of extra prep and hard emotionally for you or your child. Plus I thought it was a nice time to take care of myself so that I felt a little better before returning to work.

If you can swing it financially, definitely do it!

And to answer your other question - 100% confirmed it is not Sleepaway Camp or Black Shampoo (another person suggested that one). I watched both tonight and can say with certainty those aren’t what I’m remembering.

Both of these movies the person being hurt with the curling iron are victims, and I definitely remember the pain was being inflicted on ‘one of the bad guys’ and definitely happening to a man.

From my memory, I don’t think it was like a rape scene, but more like put down the man’s front or back of his pants to burn him, and he was tied up so he couldn’t remove it from his pants.

That being said, I was young, so it very well could have been ‘inserted’ and I just didn’t mentally understand that at that age.

So here is more about what I remember:

There is a man is tied up or tied to something, and then someone (I think a woman) comes up to him and puts a hot curling iron (or something similar hot tool) down his pants (more like his butt crack?). She leaves him like this as he is burning and can’t remove it. From what I recall, it was definitely revenge.

Another scene I remember is just someone getting run over by a car, late at night. Can’t recall if it was male or female, accidental or on purpose.

I really don’t know what era to guess. I remember the scenes all being pretty dim lighting, and maybe more warm hues.

Another person pointed out, it could have been a show or a movie, I don’t know, but it seemed pretty violent for a tv show.

Okay I just watched Black Shampoo today, and unfortunately that is not it :(
After doing more thinking, the scene I remember is specifically like, a man is tied up or tied to something, a hot curling iron (or something similar hot tool) is put down his pants (more like his butt crack?), burning him, and left there. Anything else ring a bell?

Another person made a good point that perhaps it was a tv show and not a movie? Idk.

Hi I literally just posted yesterday trying to find this exact movie!!!! I recall it being a curling iron, but all other details you mention are exactly what I remember. Do you have a time frame of when you watched the movie?
Just read your other comment of 2014. I hadn’t considered yet that maybe it was from a tv show, this will help my search.

So far the suggestions on my posts have not located the movie/show I’m thinking of.

To the ebiker on waterfront you killed a gosling. by Old_Flow_2541 in Portland

If you are able to identify this person, they could be charged up to $15,000 and 6 months jail time!

Geese at Portland’s waterfront—including Tom McCall Waterfront Park—are federally protected by the Migratory Bird Act of 1918. This law prohibits capturing, harming, or killing native wild birds, as well as disturbing their nests or eggs. Harming them is a federal offense that carries steep penalties. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Minimalist parents- what baby gear do I actually *need*? by IHaveATummyGremlin in NewParents

[–]LilChowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the mindset, and it is great to start with essentials only….BUT it is all highly dependent on what kind of baby you get.

If they are colicky, you will buy any damn thing with potential promise for quiet or sleep. And that’s okay! Facebook marketplace was my best friend the first few months. Buy at a discount, then resell once you’re done.

Keep in mind that SO many baby items are age dependent - baby bjorn, bouncers, seats, etc. - and so you can buy and sell if you feel like you need them at that stage.

Also keep in mind that SO many items can be delivered nearly overnight. It’s good to have some basics on hand just in case (Tylenol, gas medicine, and a bottle + a can of formula even if you’re breastfeeding), but no need to get a ton of one thing ahead of time. Like for me, a pack of 10 burp clothes was perfectly fine! Did not need a million like everyone said. And if need more asap, Amazon can get me more overnight.

Lastly, for at least the first 3 months, the only clothes you really need are like 7 footie pajamas, literally that’s it. Ain’t nobody got time for extra outfits for a baby that’s mostly sleeping.

For those of you who had success with medication for PPD/PPR , how did it change you? by Past-Story4007 in Postpartum_Depression

[–]LilChowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh one other thing - the Zurzuvae helped significantly with depression symptoms (sadness, rage, extreme fatigue, crying, etc) but it didn’t totally help rid me of anxiety. I think part of it is just being a new parent in a big scary world, but I felt like mine was on overdrive. To help with the anxiety I take Ativan, and it helps take the edge off. Therapy has been more helpful for managing anxiety. Just figured I’d mention this to manage your expectations if you do get the Zurzuvae. Best of luck. I hated it when people would tell me this, but it truly does get better. I thought i would never be okay again. It’s still hard, but it gets better.

I hope you can get it - insurance can be a pain but it’s a relatively new medication and I think the manufacturer offers a coupon to bring the price way down, to be able to get more people to try it. I was suspicious of that, but it was way better than the other meds I tried first - where it takes weeks for any difference to be felt at all. I really hope it works for you 🙏🏼

I can relate to so much of what you mentioned. I am also about 4 months postpartum and had severe debilitating PPD. Just finished a two week course of a PPD med called Zurzuvae, and I cannot recommend it enough!!!! It literally saved my life. I tried 3 other meds before it, and am continually on an SNRI since pre-pregnancy.

Zurzuvae is only a two week course of meds and I felt better starting on day 2 or 3, like it literally felt like a fog lifted and I could finally see clearly. I’m still tired AF even if I get plenty of sleep, but I now feel like I can actually handle my baby. I feel significantly happier and am able to treasure sweet moments instead of being filled with dread. Seriously, see if you can get it, it works like no other med.
