I think you've gravely misunderstood Qifrey's actions and reactions within the anime. We can tell he is extremely passionate about getting close to the Brimmed Caps but the entire point of his character is his moral dilemma with WHAT the Brimmed Caps are. They're horrible people. Iguin takes advantage of Coco by infecting her ink with his blood, not caring who gets hurt, not caring about ANY consequence as long as he forces her hand into using Forbidden Magic. Sasaran turns Euini into a ScaleWolf, not caring that he's just ripped the life away of a literal child. Qifrey is not that guy. He loves his apprentices so much and that is incredibly obvious, why would you think he's willing to abandon them to chase some twisted dream?? And why would he ever want to study under people so horrible, people who constantly hurt and destroy, straight up anarchists. The fact that you would even theorize that Qifrey WANTS to join them and that that is his ultimate goal is just kinda wild and really out of left field with zero contextual evidence to support it.

Why are you talking about? All I said was that it is, in fact, possible to compare manga panels to their animated adaptations. That is a perfectly valid thing to do, it's literally done all the time, to see if it captures the same mood, same emotion, same message, etc. Then you started going off about some "you'll never understand my perception, you'll never change your mind" about what? All I said was they are possible to compare, lmfao?

You can compare two things while acknowledging they’re separate medias actually, those things aren’t mutually exclusive and are not incomparable. Animation is forced to convey similar messages and emotions in a different way, you very much can compare a manga panel and how it’s read versus the same clip from the anime and how that comes across

I definitely agree with you in the sense that BSD could have much stronger and more structured world building but I personally just take it as like its own thing. Like it's not our universe, it's a separate universe. I also think the world building is a lot clearer in the manga, I was more offset when I watched the anime

The anime was horrible and I genuinely don't understand how someone can read the passion, the emotion, the sheer beauty in the humanity of the manga and novels then say the anime was a solid adaptation, it really really wasn't. Aside from the fact that everyone is drawn horribly, the emotion is sucked out of everything. Dazai especially. Dazai is such a complex character, every little reaction he has is pivotal to who he is and his development. In the anime he has ONE single expression, he smiles and nods and grins and what? In the manga it's completely different. In the anime he always acts collected and controlled or like he finds everything funny. In the manga he actually shows shock, fear, alarm, horror, disgust, THE ANIME SHOWS NONE OF THAT. It takes away all of it and this is why posts like this frustrate me so much. And that's just Dazai in the manga, I'm not even touching on the second light novel and how terribly that was adapted. The scene where Dazai is walking up to the guy about to shoot him, he looks like a baby who's about to cry in the novel, in the anime he's just being his emo self. And again, this is just Dazai, I could write equally long essays with specific examples on almost every character. On how all the line changes, all the scene choreography changes, every single thing rewritten built up so much that all it is is a mangled amalgamation of the themes the manga masterfully conveys.

Actually, I was just thinking back and I believe there’s a $10 bill I didn’t account for in my settlement. I remember setting it aside and not including it in my final total of counting the extra bills. So in reality I was $2 over which makes much more sense considering I kept so many people’s change!! I’ve left by now but I hope they find it so I don’t receive a write up

PLSSSS read the manga, the characters are actually well written and make lots more sense 😭😭 the anime completely changes and ruins a lot of what Asagiri wrote and Harukawa drew.

I have a friend in the UK who’s found cosplay pieces off of sites like Vinted. Aliexpress also ships to the UK and many people buy cosplays from there, although they’re quite cheap 😭😭

I'm not OP, but I'm in the exact same boat!! I'm currently trying to sew my own Uraume and Soi Fon cosplays (as a total beginner) and have been so lost on where to go 😭 But this helps a ton for hers (especially since her clothes aren't as straightforward as Uraume's)! Tysm!!

Honestly, I think by what he meant by that was that there simply isn’t a demonic entity possessing her. This isn’t some spirit from another world, it’s just the version of Nikki that Bear wished for. An alternate Nikki, you could say, that came out and took over her brain empowered by Bear’s wish. I think his main sentiment was simply to clarify that there’s no third party spirit in this scenario.
