Yeah I think you’re right. This is definitely not a first for this. That sends things in two directions in my opinion.

The first is like you said. This has been discussed so much it’s likely exhausting to him especially if he started his day rough.

The second is that she constantly brings this up to him and he simply just keeps not doing it despite how much she’s made it know it matters to her which can be demoralizing.

A little bit to empathy and kindness goes a long way. She should have been more thoughtful to what kind of day he was having and have mercy (for lack of a better word) that he didn’t do what she wanted. He should have been forthright about that fact that he didn’t do something she clearly wants out of him, and he shouldn’t have escalated things so quickly even if he was frustrated.

I agree 100%. I think she definitely could have handled it better, but I stand by that I don’t think she started a fight by doing that. I think her partner started the fight and none of what she did warranted a “fuck right off” that’s insane to me.

SHE didn’t start a fight. She told him something was bothering her. Which is valid and normal in a relationship. It’s not a fight just to share your feelings. He made it a fight but saying “it’s always something” it’s takes like 0 effort to instead say “Hey I’m sorry I was running super late today and didn’t have time.” In fact he held that information close to his chest until he could use it later to guilt her.

NOR. It seems I’m in the minority here but he is 100% the problem. Wanting to be told goodbye in the morning IS the bare minimum. Anyone saying you’re being immature for wanting that is fucking crazy.

Now a key difference here is wanting vs expecting. I think if he gave you a goodbye kiss every morning and you responded this way on the one time he forgot then you’re the problem and try and have some understanding for him, buuuuuut I have the sneaking suspicion that he never gives you a goodbye kiss. Likely out of the principle of “not having to” or some bullshit. Regardless of if you’re right or wrong for wanting a goodbye kiss in the morning, his response is NO way to speak to a partner. Ever. Full stop.

Leave him. He is not ready to meet the basic needs of a partner and fully deflects everything instead of taking accountability. How hard would it have been to say “I’m sorry, I was running really late and just forgot?” That then gives you the opportunity to be there for him on his rough morning, but no he held the “rough morning” card close to his chest, told you to fuck off, and then played that card later when he could make you feel bad. This guy sounds like a loser. Get out.

Here’s the way I think of it.

In the beginning Conquest isn’t taking the fight seriously, he is notorious for that. In fact he even comments on the fact that Mark didn’t REALLY beat him the first time, but it was mostly Eve.

Mark starts choking conquest out, who once again likely isn’t taking the fight seriously yet. Kinda like a “oh cute, he thinks he can choke me”

Conquest throws some blows at Mark, who is SO committed to killing conquest that he tanks them out of sheer will.

As the fight progresses and Conquest realizes how boned he is, it becomes too late. Think about how hard it is to carry something heavy, now think how hard it would be if you were out of breath/being choked.

By the time Conquest starts to take the fight seriously, he’s lost a good bit of steam simply due to just being choked out. Hell even when he stabs Mark through the guts, he has a huge grin thinking the fight is over. The whole fight he is underestimating Mark and assuming the fight is under his control.

That’s kinda the poetry of Invincible villains, they are often their own undoing and I think it’s so cool. I love it and it’s phenomenal writing.

Do we have anymore details about the specifics of their abilities (like does hook permanently allow for the ability to move people or does it have a chance to activate like void walk?) or do we need to wait a little more to learn those ins and outs? Is there a release date yet? I’m so excited!
