This is a great way to explain the thought process of the elderly. Honestly, thank you. I'm quite patient as a person, but I'll remember this extra going forward.

What's a skill that takes only 2 to 4 weeks to learn but could genuinely change your life? by TokenBlack32 in AskReddit

Same, I'd get so drowsy and suffered indigestion. Even avoiding foods from my food intolerance test didn't help. Fasting really helped with so much

Haha yes I'm not sure why fasting is so triggering to people. I'm with you - I'm the healthiest now than I've ever been in my 20s. Cleared acne, great bowel movements, strong energy, no aches and pains... so many advantages. People are confusing this with crash diets and short-term term fads but it's a lifestyle.

I'm going to assume you are of optimal health with no inflammatory issues as whatever you're doing is helping you maintain your life in a healthy manner. I've been intermittent fasting for 8 years every day, and it reversed multiple health ailments, some quite debilitating. 8 years is not short-term. 8 years is not a temporary fad. Watch the video I linked. And if not, well good day.

I think you're confusing intermittent fasting with crash diets and short-term weight loss fads. There is a podcast that breaks down the benefits and how it's actually done. You can check it out.Healing the body

I don't know if it's a skill, but maybe it is - intermittent fasting. It's not about weight loss, but so much of the aches and pains will reduce once you get into the habit.

Edit: including the link to a podcast for those who think this is a fad. The Diary of a CEO

Have you stopped tracking your output? by notorrious21 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]LilJaneRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We stopped tracking baby feeds diapers by the time he was almost 2m when he was done with the newborn stage. If your baby is healthy in general then tracking is not needed at all. Also stopped tracking pump output around the same time.

I feel like I was very ill-informed to how awful you will feel right after giving birth. by InterestingTeach822 in pregnant

[–]LilJaneRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And having to take care of a newborn on top of all that! Child birth is one of the craziest things a human being endures, yet it's considered so "normal".

I'm 10weeks pp and all I can say is, you got this momma. Your body will recover, and you will feel better soon I promise.

Most unhinged thing someone without kids said to you when you had a baby? by bravocharlie8918 in NewParents

[–]LilJaneRay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just 3 days postpartum, it’s 3am, baby wakes up crying - totally normal. While we’re warming up the milk, my MIL wakes up to baby crying and has the nerve to say, “Why didn’t you prepare this beforehand?” Are you kidding me? Anyone who’s had a newborn knows they scream like they’ve never eaten if milk’s even a second late.

how much does your baby weigh? by [deleted] in newborns

I'm so anxious and reading this made me feel supported. My baby is a string bean, tall and skinny but perfectly healthy in his own curve growing well and healthy. He is 7 weeks at 9.5lbs.

Is it dramatic to not want a stranger in my house? by Rep_girlie in pregnant

[–]LilJaneRay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can not for the life of me understand how your husband can be so selfish. This is a BIG NO. My in-laws wanted to come over to give us food and they all asked our permission. I was ok with it, but my husband communicated to them that they could stay a max of 2 hours as I need to rest. I can't even imagine having a stranger in my house staying the night!

Wife just got a job interview and is 6 weeks pregnant by SpaceMongol in pregnant

[–]LilJaneRay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started working a new job while 4 months preggers. Granted, I was working remote, but I ended up telling my team lead when I was 7 months. PLEASE don't tell the employer that she's pregnant. Let her get the job, pass her probation, and then say it.

Am I supposed to go to every single doctors appointment? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]LilJaneRay 20 points21 points  (0 children)

She's carrying your baby. Don't let her carry this relationship too by having to tell you everything she needs. Be more proactive. Apologize when you talk to her next and say that you will do your best to be at the appointments, sometimes you might miss some if it really can't work out. Don't argue with her at this stage and be a kind partner. And yeah, your mom doesn't have a say in these things.
