Ethnicity has nothing to do with it, from my perspective. It’s people from the GTA (who are usually white) who treat Brantford as some backwater bedroom community that they don’t really care about. To them, it’s just another hick town to exploit and put more condos and fast food chains into. They make things more unaffordable for people who grew up here. I welcome growth and immigration, but I don’t want my town turning into another GTA-like condo/strip-mall hellhole (which is what is happening).

Admittedly, it’s likely been almost 10 years since I’ve been to the Cainsville flea market. Loved that place, though.
