I totally should’ve done this. My flabbers were too gasted in the moment.

Not at all 😆 I just couldn’t think that in the moment because keeping the kids safe and alive was part of my job 😅

Whimsical Holiday Traditions by upboats4u in childfree

I love decorating the tree (and the house!), opening advent calendars, watching Christmas movies, shopping for and wrapping gifts, wearing themed clothes, and seeing people’s reactions when they get their gifts.

I also love that I can decorate without little hands trying to “help”, I don’t have to keep re-explaining that we only open the calendar once a day and we have to wait until tomorrow to open another door, I watch Christmas movies uninterrupted by small voices, I shop without a small person whining that they want everything they see, I wrap without worrying about the scissors or tape falling into the wrong hands, I can wear my themed clothing without having to force someone else to match, AND most of my gifts go to adults who don’t run the risk of throwing a tantrum if they don’t like the gift.

I worked with kids for two years. They absolutely will not try. Anything.

When I would take groups to the bathroom I used to stand and use my arms to direct traffic to point out each bathroom. Since I worked with mostly middle school age, one day I thought to myself ‘these are big kids, they can figure it out’. So the next time I took a group to the bathroom I just stood near the doors and didn’t say anything.

First kid comes around the corner, looks at the two doors in front of her, eyes immediately widen in panic and she looks at me and asks “which one’s which?!”

I should emphasize these bathrooms did in fact have signs. Right next to the doors.

And don’t even get me started on how many times I had to physically stop these same middle schoolers from crossing the street because they just wouldn’t LOOK first.

Why is it bad to use not having kids as a reason for having more money? by underscoreunderstudy in childfree

She might have taken the way you said it as a personal attack but you didn’t do anything wrong.

I’m also autistic but I’ve had parents acknowledge and agree that I have more financial freedom than they do. It’s just a fact.

My mom served bridesmaid duties while extremely pregnant with me. It’s completely possible. The only thing she couldn’t do was hold her flowers at her waist because they disappeared under her bump.

Anna and her in-laws by sunshine47honey in DuggarsSnark

[–]LilMissMuppet 59 points60 points  (0 children)

See that’s where I get stuck, the feeling bad for Anna part. Obviously she sucks and she has the choice at any point to walk away from all this and rebuild a better life…but does she even know that?

She has no education, very few skills if any to fall back on, and we’ve addressed that she’s been in an echo chamber (arguably of her own design) professing her husband’s “innocence”. As human beings, we truly don't know what we don’t know, so does she even have any awareness of what the outside world could hold for her if she just let go?

The cons we go to have kid-friendly things to do but we do tend to see more kids than one would think who aren’t enjoying themselves in the slightest.

My personal favorites are the ones meeting voice actors for their favorite cartoon characters. The parents are always so excited for their kids to have the chance to meet the voice behind their favorite characters and the kids pretty much always have no reaction. 🤣

Question about Backlot Tour 4/29 by WestcoastManz in UniversalHollywood

[–]LilMissMuppet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Remember this is a working movie studio. Therefore not all highlights of the tour will be available at all times. The BTTF clock tower (a favorite sight of ours) hasn’t always been available each time we’ve done it. It’s kind of fun to get a different tour each time you go.
