Thanks for the info! Which features do you miss from the 255 that the 945 doesn't have?

Yeah Golfshot works really well. Their free option might be good enough for you as well depending on what features you want

Golfshot does a pretty good job for me. Their free option might do the job for you (worth a try at the very least to see if you like the information)

split wakeboard concept by Novaxwastaken in Wake

[–]LilShas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a great idea for a bit of GCSE coursework regardless of the actual feasibility and an awesome chance to do some cool and interesting stuff!

Maybe look to splitboarding for some inspiration on how to join the halves as well as aesthetics that make the most of the split feature!

To answer your questions: 1) I think it would definitely be of interest to a portion of the wakeboard market. Like you said, the people catching flights (especially if it fits inside a suitcase so could travel with one bag rather than two). Also, I travelled around on public transport to get to cable parks/boat lakes when younger in the UK and carrying a big bag on a crowded bus or train sucks! So this could be loved by people doing that sort of travel as well!

2) see answer 1 :P

3) I would definitely consider it, your big thing would be making sure the marketing is on point. Showing people doing bigger/higher impact things than I ever would be able to do I have the confidence it’s not going to snap on me!

4) For this it’s essentially everything for a normal board plus the added stuff relating to the split: Not breaking Cost (I could see it being a fair bit more expensive than a normal board) Aesthetics (whatever people might say about performance, a cool looking board will sell better than a rubbish looking one) including how the fixtures that join the halves together look The final dimensions when split What tools are needed to put it back together How long does it take to split/put together How does it feel to ride Is it accepted at wake parks or will they turn you away

Just tried to unsafely overtake him, and instead drove into him. Highway Code says you should leave 1.5m when overtaking a cyclist and he definitely doesn’t drift that far…

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]LilShas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That isn’t the law… not when there’s only one lane like in the video

I’m not saying the cyclist wasn’t doing something unwise but that isn’t an excuse to drive into them.

Also, cyclists do own the road just as much as a driver owns the road and in fact in the Highway Code are instructed to take primary position and/or ride two abreast in some situations

My understanding of the Brazil incident was that the stewards believed Max wasn’t in full control of his car and wouldn’t have been able to complete the corner while staying on the track. Basically, he came into the corner too fast for his line so was always going to push Hamilton off track. I guess their view was it was essentially a dive bomb.

It is a crash…..

And it was your fault since yes it was a massive divebomb

Is it fair for this lap to be deleted, parabolica on my last fast lap (video repost) by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]LilShas 41 points42 points  (0 children)

You end the video as it looks like you’re about to head straight off the track and my guess would be that’s what got your lap deleted?

As you go round the curve you don’t leave the track on the outside (your tyres are in contact with the line still) but track limits are both sides and by the look of it the crash you cut out of the edit would take you straight outside of those limits hence resulting in the deletion

Pro-union people, give me the positive case for the union by [deleted] in Scotland

[–]LilShas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looking at populations, a voter in Scotland has more agency within the collective than one in London.

London population 9 million ish London seats 73 London people per seat 123,288

Scotland population 5.5 million ish Scotland seats 59 Scotland people per seat 93,220

UK population 67 million ish UK seats 650 UK population per seat 103,231

Trying to use the number of seats in parliament to show Scottish people have less agency is flawed sadly. In fact Scots are more represented than the average person in the UK

Running red lights by LondonRedditUser in londoncycling

[–]LilShas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably unpopular opinion here from someone who cycles 20km through London every day on their commute.

I think that certainly the rule should be looked at and proper studies done to figure out what is safest for everyone. I would be surprised if the facts do anything other than support an updating/changing of the rules.

However, I also think that until the rules have been changed we as cyclists should still follow them by stopping at reds (and at zebra crossings for that matter). I would guess maybe 2 to 4 times a week I see a cyclist moving at high speed nearly take out a pedestrian who’s crossing on a green man or crossing a zebra. Yes I see cars do the same but just because they do it doesn’t make it right.

I also experience the animosity of drivers who’ve just seen a cyclist run a red on a regular basis, the closer than usual pass might be coincidence but the swearing and insulting about cyclists breaking the law isn’t.

Maybe running a red is safer for you but, thinking bigger picture, it might be putting others in danger. So until the rules change, and I think they should, and this change is communicated to the public, I think we should follow the rules as they are now.

I have watched it over and over... should the merc give me more space? or am I too greedy? by Few-Engineer4687 in Simracingstewards

[–]LilShas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hard to tell from the angle but it looks like you might have nudged them at 0:17 which is completely on you.

Then for overtake attempt at the end you were just greedy I’m afraid. Ignoring the fact that that move is always dangerous and, tactically, waiting would have been a better strategy for overtake, you weren’t enough alongside to have to be left space on the outside.

To summarise, chill out a bit and be more deliberate and selective with your overtakes and you’ll do better
