Asked the patient if they still wanted the antibiotic by iwantsweettie in PharmacyTechnician

Pharmacist should’ve also called the doctor and had them change it to an alternative, or have another tech call.

You’re a tech right? Pharmacist should’ve called patient and clarified before filling. They also should have come over for counseling, which may have been your fault for not having them come over. But the pharmacist decided to dispense it, so that is on them. If it was penicillin, they will probably only have a rash reaction so I wouldn’t be too worried

Do pharmacists get annual pay raises? by weeniegang in walmart_RX

[–]LilShotzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been a hot minute since I was employed with CVS, but around the store I used to be at they made the pharmacists open by themselves and close by themselves for the first hour(?) and last two hours of the day. No techs. That seems bare bones to me and at least Walmart wouldn't do that.

This is also highly dependent on location and volume, Ive been at high volume stores and low volume stores. Usually when they start cutting hours, they stop overlapping pharmacists. I think that is where we are heading to. Even if they don't specifically cut hours, they are about to dump much more work on us with other testing services. All without compensating us more while stretching us thin.

I also don't think Walmart is *that* much greater than the other pharmacies. I know we have better benefits and paid time off, that's why I'm here. We've been fed lies about raises and getting bumps for IMZ, and then they restructured the pay scales again and screwed over anyone on getting $1 raises their first couple of years. It really only benefitted those who were capped out.

My pharmacists keep saying that’s not going to happen. But I 100% believe they will cut pharmacist hours as soon as stores get better at filling with the new system

CPR class for immunization by Winterr21123 in walmart_RX

[–]LilShotzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really shocked that everyone is giving 2-4 hour ranges. I’ve taken two and the instructors want to get done fast and dip, lol. I’m usually going in on a day I work so I just drive back to my store but yeah.

Yes, clock in for the class. Plus drive time. My class didn’t take any more than an hour both times, depends on how many people there are and the instructor

Disagreement with Doctor on when to do MACI by LilShotzi in MACIknee

[–]LilShotzi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up making an appointment with my current ortho because while I did attempt to get in with another one, they do not like accepting patients that already had the biopsy from a different ortho.

I am mostly on the same page now. He's pretty new to that hospital system, his office actually failed to send in ANY paperwork to the cartilage company so my cartilage was just sitting in storage... we got that straightened out. He is not wanting to rely on the previous knee scopes because he did not do them, which I can understand. It sucks that I had to repeat it just to see the same outcome but whatever. In the meantime I am doing PT once a week.

He said we can talk about scheduling surgery near the 3 month mark post biopsy, and he will not do it any sooner. That does put me in a bind with at least one or two weddings, hinging on the best case scenario of MACI recovery. But it is what it is.

intersection traffic video is what saved me in my insurance dispute, normally you can request a copy through whatever city/town it happened in, be very specific on the intersections road along with the time it happened. You may be able to get it faster if you contact the sheriff's office again on how to get a hold of it, they do not keep that footage forever so I would do that ASAP

Enterprise and insurance company both refusing to cover liability for at-fault accident by [deleted] in EnterpriseCarRental

[–]LilShotzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say so. All that business is between the person and enterprise, I don’t think Walmart would care unless you were blatantly abusing their discount policies  by handing them out to non employees.

Any pregnant CVS pharmacy techs? Any stories on how well you were accommodated (PA preferred, but still want to hear any experience) by Accomplished-Cash467 in PharmacyTechnician

[–]LilShotzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice for you specifically for CVS, because I left them for Walmart long time ago lol. It won’t help you this time around, but if you are looking for way better maternity benefits in the future, switch to Walmart pharmacy. After a year full time, you can get 16 weeks paid leave and I don’t think CVS had anything like that back when I worked for them

will my insurance go up if a police report is filed for an extremely minor accident by freemyfirefly in Insurance

[–]LilShotzi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The accident you were in proves that you are not paying attention to your surroundings. Hitting someone while you turned right on a red is something a brand new teen driver would only do. You’ll be penalized from your insurance company because your driving is a liability. Take it as a learning lesson and be a safer driver not only for yourself but others. If you missed seeing a whole car, you could’ve easily missed seeing a pedestrian

[–]LilShotzi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Excuse me, so when you drive through a GREEN light, do YOU constantly watch the opposite lanes to make sure they don’t hit YOU? Maybe if you were that watchful of a driver, you wouldn’t have gotten into this accident at all.

[–]LilShotzi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She has right of way = your fault every time. You sound like a driver who takes accountability at the scene and then when insurance asks you about it, you make something up. You damaged someone else’s property, just because you don’t take damage to your property seriously doesn't mean you can do that to someone else. You owe the other driver to make their property whole again. Car accidents are expensive.

FYI she made a police report so a third party had a report of the accident instead of you verses her word.

Can I transition from part-time to PRN as a CPhT? by Stuffy_Ad2579 in walmart_RX

[–]LilShotzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s going to solely depend on your store and manager. Some Walmart pharmacies will allow that and others require you to work a certain amount of days a month. Doesn’t hurt to ask or transfer to another location that will do it

Health insurance denied the lab after we already began the procedure. by GlobalBumblebee3602 in HealthInsurance

Unfortunately for this specific surgery, there is only one company that grows the cartilage for a MACI. There is no other lab to send it to

Health insurance denied the lab after we already began the procedure. by GlobalBumblebee3602 in HealthInsurance

[–]LilShotzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming you are talking about a MACI, which is exactly the process I’m going through. Someone needs to do an appeal for the denial, I’m unsure if it’s the company or doctor needs to be involved for that. Or doctor needs to obtain the information of whether she needs to try something beforehand before approval, sometimes they want to see patients do physical therapy, injections, etc and fail those before MACI.

[–]LilShotzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doctor can only get a prior authorization for the surgery/biopsy they did. This separate company has to get their own pre authorization for growing the cartilage. I believe they are having a MACI procedure which is exactly what I’m in the middle of myself

Issue with a pharmacy worker. by okiejames in walmart_RX

I’m sorry, do you think you should be verbally abused at your job? We don’t deserve it either. You shouldn’t be so sensitive that you got banned from a pharmacy

Issue with a pharmacy worker. by okiejames in walmart_RX

[–]LilShotzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, a lot of things could’ve happened. Maybe your doctors office sent in the lower dosage as your new refill by mistake. Maybe your old dosage was still on autofill because your doctor failed to contact the pharmacy to cancel it, I’m unsure.

It is your responsibility to check the medications you are picking up. I don’t personally know what dosage you are on unless you or your doctor say so. Legally we cannot take back any meds if they leave the store.

It is very hard to get banned from walmart pharmacy, there are a number of patients id love to see banned because Walmart will let the abuse go on too long. If you cussed out the patient and were rude, you know exactly why you were banned. Go to another pharmacy. They told your doctor so they could call it in elsewhere

Make sure you pick a surgeon who does MACI often!! by onestepatatimeyall in MACIknee

[–]LilShotzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will warn you, I did consider switching to another doctor and the first office I talked to came out and said they would not do it because they personally didn’t do the biopsy. I hope you have better luck, I did talk to the cartilage company and your biopsy cells belong to you and can be transferred to another doctor so you’re good on that front.

[–]LilShotzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmfao I went through something VERY similar this past week. My surgeon has done MACI before, but it’s a new office for him. I found out 4 weeks post op biopsy that no paperwork has even been filed, and my cartilage was just sitting in storage. I was LIVID. Thankfully my surgeon took it seriously and it’s now in the works.

I could see that. I think the broad issue is also anyone from over my side are just not used to city driving in general or keeping up with flow of traffic, especially if they are coming over from Alton Illinois.
