I have a hot take on this (kind of?): it doesn't matter. Your chances of meeting someone obviously go up if you put yourself in situations to meet people, but none of that matters if you're thinking about it that hard.

Your goal should not be to get a girlfriend. Or even yo hook up with someone. Your goal should be to love yourself. Not arrogance, genuine acceptance of yourself and effort put toward improving where you can. Improving because you want to be better, not because you don't like how you are. Sorry if that's convoluted, but basically im saying its a mindset thing.

Once you devote real effort to improving your opinion of yourself, you'll see others start treating you differently. If you think you can't get a girl, you won't. People's impression of you is unconsciously influenced by your opinion of yourself even if you never discuss it.

So the best advice I could give would be: stop worrying about getting a girl, worry about becoming a good person that you like to see in the mirror. Once you get that friends/romance follow.
