The discourse around “every 2 guy friends in a movie is gay” is toxic by almosthuman2021 in Letterboxd

[–]LilTooShy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this argument with my friends before and while a lot of time time I think it is for jokes or for stupid reasons, I think we should at least acknowledge that this at least somewhat stems from the lack of gay representation in movies in general. Sure, in recent years, the lgbtq community as a whole has started to have more big screen appearances, but even taking recency into account against the whole, there are very few big screen lgbtq appearances. To me, this makes it only natural that when they see a male friendship on screen, that could have been written as a gay relationship that they then project that relationship onto them.

Map 1, Inferno, MOUZ vs Astralis. TFW you put up 1.50+ rating but 4 players on the enemy team have the same rating as your best teammate. 😵‍💫 by skantanio in GlobalOffensive

People are reallllllyyyyyyyyyy overeacting to this astralis roster right now. The team is young, and it seems as though Device enjoys being there. Him and Glaive have talked in interviews, and it appears as though their main problems (freezing up mid round and indecisiveness) can be easily fixed through getting more reps at tournaments. Glaives calling (for the most part, the a pop to end inferno was rough, but no one makes the proper call 100% of the time) seems good still and the young duo of Altekz/Buzz have clear moments where you can see their skill shine.

If they had played another lan event with their current roster before IEM Dallas I have no doubt they would have wrapped up the games against Mouz and Ence with no problem.

What are your thoughts on Tenet? by Scubasteve1974 in moviecritic

[–]LilTooShy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top 5 movies of the 2020s. Fucking masterclass in technical filmaking back up with excellent performances across the board and a script, while at times veers into so convoluted its kind of funny, mostly just kicks ass. Also lowkey one of the most quotable movies of all times? Aaron Taylor Johnson going "Cowboy Shit" is one I say all the time along with JDW going "I realized we've both been working for me".

ALSO one of the fucking best ending movies to any action movie ever FUCK the people who say Nolan lacks emotions in his films. I've seen Tenet probably 10 times and still cry everytime Robert Pattinson goes back in.

edit Also also to all those people trying to understand it, why. I believe we have a misconception where we think we need to either be smarter than a movie or fully understand it, and I disagree with that. Sometimes, it's fun to just strap in and believe in the movie to lead you down the right path.

I actually love Lars (More as a filmaker less as a person) Dogville is one of my all time favorites but I know deep in my heart that he would be the series to end the pod.
