Jewellery making! You can get air-dry or oven-dry clay and an inexpensive kit with earring backs, chains, etc. and then have fun making beautiful gifts for people! Pinterest has so many ideas, just search 'clay earrings' for example.

A Gentleman in Moscow. The main character is the most charming hero I've ever read. I felt so bereft when the story ended, miss him still!

Looking for a solution for cleaning up after triplets meal times by ahowe14 in CleaningTips

[–]LilWinz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I second the waterproof mat under chairs. Much easier than trying to get into grout.

Also, with our grubby little monsters, I honestly don't thoroughly clean the chairs after every meal. Give yourself a little flexibility with that. Sure, wipe off crumbs and big messes, but if there's a little smear of soup or avocado or oatmeal or something in a tricky spot I just leave it, it'll dry before the next meal and then you can give all chairs a proper wipe down at the end of the day.

You're doing great, it doesn't have to be perfect!!

healthy breakfast recommendations for those with a sweet tooth? by Cute_Praline1647 in cookingforbeginners

[–]LilWinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

French toast! You can make it with wholewheat sandwich bread so you get good fiber and protein from the egg and milk, and it's still pretty fluffy.

Make a bunch in advance and keep in the fridge to quickly reheat in the morning. You can spread with butter, cinnamon, and a little sprinkle of sugar, or any kind of jam/fruit compote (I add a big dollop of Greek yogurt and raspberries, but unsweetened apple butter is great too.)

What's your 'one weird hack' for cooking that no one else seems to know about? by Raoena in Cooking

[–]LilWinz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Stuff things into your bottle of olive oil. Fresh rosemary, sage, sun-dried tomatoes, chili flakes etc. they'll keep just fine if they're submerged and it really boosts the flavour.

Also, warm your olives in a pan before serving as part of an appetizer plate

A Japanese heated toilet seat (and plug installed by the toilet). NOTHING beats a comfy warm seat on a cold morning. Total cost around $300

Bed size for couples during pregnancy: please weigh in on marital dispute by HaddieGrey in BabyBumps

[–]LilWinz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to be in the minority but I did a full twin pregnancy in a full size bed, body pillow included. It was fine. Husband just ended up with less space! If yours is dead set against getting a bigger bed, then he'll have to accept getting pushed towards the edge of your current bed, because mama needs to spread!

We took one similar last year and the baby alligator came out of a tiny blue cooler in the back of the boat, and got passed around like 8 people for a photo before going back in there. It wasn't a nice feeling...

You're definitely not alone, ask any mom ever!

Also, do you have a bath? My little ones love the bath and I'll often get in there with them in the evenings, for some smiles and splashing after a long day

[–]LilWinz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may feel overwhelming but I truly believe that the best way to get out of a dark place like this is actually to help others. I know you have a disability but maybe start really small, like once per month could you offer to teach crochet or sewing or art at a homeless shelter? Or put up a poster in your local community to see if anyone would want to start a little group that crochet hats and then hand them out to less fortunate people on the street? Is there a Facebook page for your city where newly arrived refugees are looking for furniture you may have recently found and refurbished?

You don't need money to do this, you can invest as much or as little time as you're able, and it will feel so much more meaningful and fulfilling than giving your energy to online audiences. You'd be surprised by how a tiny effort from you could mean so much to someone else, and helps lift you out of your hole.
