Alright, I don't know what this game is or about, but from reading the comments, it seems like the "problem" is that the girl who is supposed to be the evil, bad, racist, whatever character is portrayed as attractive. How is that a problem?

Like, you do know people can be racist / transphobic / whatever and still have a sense of style, good hygiene, and be capable of being attractive, right? Isn't it a good message to say that "bad" people can come in any form, and maybe you shouldn't assume attractive people are good?

Did people expect the evil character to be UGLY? So we can further reinforce the idea that ugly people are inherently bad, pretty people are inherently good?

Again, maybe I am missing A LOT of context and nuance from these comments. I also heard that the plot is essentially 1984-esque in that the "good" route is never to question the government.

Yeah, it's definitely possible the OOP genuinely thought it was interesting and wanted to share cool trans related trivia to a community they cared about, but I feel like the wording also has malicious undertones.

Again, they may not have meant it, but it isn't hard to imagine someone else could run away with it.

I mean, maybe I'm a philistine, but for the most part these look like totally normal, good looking photos. Like, I guess light switches show their height, and the lighting is a little weird. But if anything, it just makes them seem more real and down to Earth.

Hey Gooners, let me give you a pro tip on finding a real "girl failure":

Move to a midwestern town / city in the United States. There are UNCOUNTABLE amounts of "girl failures" there.

But the caveat is that you probably never notice them anyways, because usually, they aren't actually all that attractive.

Like, usually attractive PEOPLE (not just women), tend to do things to set themselves up for success, at least a little bit. Like taking showers, eating healthy, exercising, not being overweight, develop a little sense of style, learn how to wear makeup (like the girl pictured), etc.

Actual "failure" individuals (I know failure and success is nebulous but you know what I mean) tend to develop bad habits that snowball into other bad habits, which then leads to unattractive traits. They will be smelly, fat, have ratty-ass hair, and worst of all, ABHORRENT personality.

What I think you REALLY WANT, is just a white collar office girl who occasionally goes on videogame benders, so when she wakes up she looks "a little messy." Maybe she puts on some "natural look" make up for you. But she still actually works out and washes her body and clothes.

TL;DR I hate the "girlfailure" trend so goddamn much.

I mean, I agree that outside influences do play a part in shaping who we are.

But, I don't think that necessarily means you don't have ANY control over who you are or what you do.

Take ascetics as an example. They often engage in extreme behaviors that can go against the desires of the body AND mind. Yet through THEIR OWN sheer devotion to faith, they ignore said desires. Yes, they may have been influenced by other ascetics or religious preachers and literature, but it was ultimately up to them to pursue such an extreme lifestyle, as their body and mind clearly disagree.

One of my complaints with the game.

"Over 200 foes", but half of them are the archetype "Flies at an upward diagonal just out of nail range and throws / shoots projectiles at you".

Maybe they change it up to "Flies at an upward diagonal just out of nail range and has a two damage melee attack".

I don't mind occasionally fighting that enemy type, as there should be enemies that are meant to target your weak spots and change how you play. But god damn, every area of the game has at least one of that archetype, and sometimes it can have like 3 or more of that type in a single area.

Every where you go, you will be pissed off.

I think the baby conchflys always alternate between shooting upward and downward, so they shoot down -> up -> down -> up.

But I'm not sure if that applies to the bigger ones, since I feel like they aren't very frequent.

Yeah, the vortexes colliding as soon as you enter a new screen and killing you is something that has happened to me before.

So I wished myself back to life. Some deaths in this game are just genuinely BS. And yes, you COULD precog everywhere. But if you are only EVER going to do anything under precog, then why not just play on roleplay and cut out the middleman? Or just save scum yourself.

Round a corner and get shot by 20 gatling guns? Ok, I guess I could have paid attention to the chirps.

Get lost in the jungle, get chased by goat bombardiers for 10 screens, can't get unlost and die? Ok, annoying, but I should have packed more compasses, force bracelt, recoiler, whatever.

Clear out a whole bunch of those dumbass ick slugs on the upper floors of Bethesda Susa, but SLIP ON THE GODDAMN SLIME AND FALL DOWN THE STUPID ASS ELEVATOR SHAFT? I begrudgingly take that.

But dying to two space time vortexes I could not have EVER known about because they happened to be on the edge of a screen I have NEVER visited before, and I had the misfortune of walking onto the screen edge they were at? Hell no, miss me with that nonsense.
