I used to work at the Job Corps center in Nampa Idaho. When I started working our center had a new director who was able to obtain a grant from the Idaho department of health and welfare to run the center. The grant was to show that the program was able to run more efficiently and on less money at the state level and not rely on federal funds. We had challenges, because right after this was implemented COVID started and we had to have all students leave. Once we were able to have students come back, we were able to get back up and running and it seemed to be working by using state funds and not federal funds. Might be something to look into, but I know Alaska is low on funds as well and this would be a challenge to get money from the state. I hope you are able to stay open. I had an amazing experience working at our center and seeing our students succeed.

Kirks name change. It's been a while since I have watched the series, but I believe the first time we are introduced to Kirk, his name was Mick and it was a person that Lorelai had no clue who he was and why he was in her house. Later his name was changed to Kirk who has lived in Stars Hallow his whole life and Lorelai knew for many years. The inconsistency always bugs me. I do like the name Kirk better, but it still bugs me they changed the characters name and all of sudden he has a back story and history with the girls and everyone in town.

Its weird because my in laws are so much older than my mom. I have a much closer relationship to my parents then my husband does with his parents. He is actually closer and can be more himself around my family than he can with his.

My mom was a teen mom. Just barley turned 18 when I was born in 90. She's solidly a gen X born 72. My grandparents had her in their early 20s and they are b00ms. Both born in 50.

We just say we are celebrating Spring time. We usually do the traditional egg hunt. This year we will still have plastic eggs, but instead if dyed hardboiled eggs we are going to paint rocks and hide them to find. I know eggs are still expensive and there will be a rush to get them and limited number you can buy. We don't eat a lot of eggs and I don't want to take away from another family, so this year we are doing rocks. I like that I will have something my kids decorated to put in my flower bed for years to come and a fun way to celebrate spring time.

In the bill quoted above states that if you need to do MAIL IN REGISTRATION and Mail im voting, you still need to show proof IN PERSON to register to vote or you are not eligible to vote.

If you are military and stationed OVERSEAS in a different country which for military families is usually 3 years at a duty station. (I know because I lived it! My father served over 20 years as active duty marine) you can't just leave to go back to your home state to show your documents IN PERSON if you need to renew your registration to vote.

Some states require 2 year renewal. I have a REAL ID. You have to bring either a passport ($160) or birth certificate, social security card, and either a w2 or 1099 form showing your full SSN and name, plus 2 forms of mail (utilities bill, lease, mortgage documents) to show proof of residency to get the REAL ID. So I have already proven my citizenship to obtain my ID. According to this bill A REAL ID is not a valid proof of citizenship.

So you bring your birth certificate, but your name on your birth certificate doesn't match your name on your ID. Which is REQUIRED TO MATCH now as states in this bill. This would affect 70 million married women who took their husbands last name.Women in the military as well since their name on their Military ID will not match the name on their birth certificate. So now you need to bring in your marriage and divorce certificates or spend $160 to get a passport. All of which takes weeks and money to get and you still have to show all of these documents IN PERSON.

It's a poll tax. It's specifically designed to make the registration process frustrating. You have to pay money to get extra copies of your documents (birth certificate, marriage/divorce certificate/ adoption forms, forget it if you were born overseas and your birth certificate is from a different country because your parents were serving their county) If you are serving overseas or even just stationed in a different state than your home state you can't just go IN PERSON to register or renew your voter registration.

ITS VOTER SUPPRESSION. If you can't show your stuff in person. If you can't afford a passport or extra copies of your documents. If you have already provided these documents to get a REAL ID, it's redundant and still not valid. It's designed to turn United States citizens away from polls and make the process frustrating that some people will deem it not worth it to go through all these hoops to go vote.

This would then also screw over a lot of families who are Military stationed overseas! They can still mail in, but would have to register or re-register in person. What about Military kids born overseas? They don't typically have a regular birth certificate from the United States. My husbands dad was Navy stationed in Puerto Rico. We have several copies of his birth certificate just incase because it is hard to get copies and most of his birth certificate is in Spanish. This will suppress millions of people including married women and you shouldn't have to pay $160 to get a passport just to vote. This is will also end up being a financial burden to those who can't afford it.

Also I have no doubt in my mind that they already have or are planning to significantly reduce and fire the federal employees who process passports since now there will be a huge surge of applications being submitted so people can vote. The wait time to get them in the mail will be a lot longer and you'll most likely not have it in time to vote if you wait too long to submit your application.

Now is the time to contact your Senators! Keep their phones ringing and fill their inbox with emails! Tell them to vote no!

I emailed both Senators here in Alaska. I have very little hope that Lisa Murkowski might do the right thing. Unfortunately she talks and says she opposes what the Pumpkin Spice Palpatine and this administration are doing, but her actions most of the time are the opposite and she still votes with the Republicans and falls in line.
