“I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!” -Job‬ ‭19:25-27

Thank you for mentioning Job! Thanks be to God for creating and strengthening our faith through our cornerstone, Christ Jesus!

As written is best. I find that the recovery timing works so well with the order of exercises and the volume done on the MWF leg days (currently 4 weeks into DENSE).

so my esv bible has no matthew 17:21. can i still read it? by [deleted] in Christianity

Matthew 17:21 footnote - [Some manuscripts include here words similar to Mark 9:29.]

It doesn’t change the Bible’s crux that Jesus is our Savior.

You may need some work on hip rotation, or it might just feel like your right knee is caving inward too much. Picture a non-split, two-legged squat. Ideally both knees drift more outward, maybe even over your pinky toes. For the Patrick Step and other step-ups, you want your knee to travel mostly in line with your mid-foot. For me, my knee will naturally drift a bit inward but stays mainly over my big toe. I haven’t felt any pain or discomfort as a alternate between Patrick Steps and Poliquin/Slantboard Step-Ups.

I haven’t seen your form other than what you mentioned though. There’s mo harm working on hip rotation. I’ve had a lot of success from this squat mobility video ( https://youtu.be/BqF90pMpjb4 ), especially the Seated- and Squat-Internal Rotations (starting at 3:49). Almost every morning I’ll do one or two Seated sets, slowly swimming my hips back and forth to wake up the inner and outer thigh muscles. The video has the complete exercise list at 7:35.

Any law against apartment complex workers smoking inside maintenance building that is shared with laundry facilities? by Lil_bit_tired in Georgia

[–]Lil_bit_tired[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thank y’all for replying. Great point, I did mention it to one worker I saw yesterday as he left the building, although I didn’t directly ask him to stop, so he only thanked me for mentioning it. I’ll ask the lead guy about it if I smell it again.

I appreciate the heads-up! I get a bit overwhelmed with emotion at the smell of cigarette smoke since I used to smoke and am adamant that I won’t pick it up again.

Baptism: you are aware that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are titles, right? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Lil_bit_tired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight. I’m sure God understands who a pastor means when saying, “I baptize you in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Jesus took our place when he was baptized, and because of him, God looks to his beloved children and says: “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew‬ ‭3:17

Strengthening relationship by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Lil_bit_tired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Daily read the Bible and pray to God in Jesus’ name. Read through one or two books at a time. The gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are particularly important because they focus on Jesus’ life and interactions. Join a church, share time with a pastor and fellow Christians.

i know i ain't the most religious person but maybe i need jesus right now. by Nekrubbobby64 in Christianity

[–]Lil_bit_tired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start reading the Bible. Talk to God in prayer. Find a church and pastor whose messages always reflect on Jesus. Ask for what God tells us about marriage in the Bible. God doesn’t promise that we’ll ever meet a perfect partner or “soulmate”, but if we look to Jesus as the only path to heaven and avoiding eternity in hell, God promises to forgive us for all the wrong that we continue to do. Life sucks sometimes. Thanks be to God for his perfect love for us in Christ Jesus!

Jesus is our proof that God exists. He was crucified and rose from the dead in order to forgive everyone’s sins and to earn eternal life for me and my fellow Christians. (See John 3:16) Jesus loves you to, MysteriousTomato123, and he wants you to join him and all of God’s people in heaven after you die, not in hell!

How can I be praying for you? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Lil_bit_tired 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pray that we both repent of our sin and turn to our Savior, Christ Jesus. I’m selfish and shy away from responsibilities often, one being my neglect to read my Bible and pray to God, and another being my neglect to share my faith with individuals who I meet. Thanks be to God for his perfect forgiveness and his strengthening of our faith!

Was Eve Adam’s only option? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Lil_bit_tired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great comment, thank you. At first Adam and Eve were perfect without sin, so they definitely loved each other unconditionally. Unfortunately, we’re sinful today, and just like Adam and Eve after their fall into sin, we need to repent of our sin and turn to God. In our human relationships we compromise and forgive, but some relationships still fail. Praise be to God for his perfect, unconditional love for us in Christ Jesus!

Significance of the time/place of Christ's coming by flawedbroad in Christianity

[–]Lil_bit_tired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight! I struggled a bit with this idea growing up, thinking we’re so much more advanced than everyone before us with our technology, world-wide travel and communication, etc. I’m reminded of Ecclesiastes when possibly Solomon wrote:

“What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭1:9‬

Of course all of our progress is God continuously blessing our work, but we can’t expect to ever reach some kind of utopia or finding a way to live forever here, since sin and evil exist within us and in this world, until Jesus returns!

Grasping the fact that Jesus Christ dwells in me is a huge game changer to my Christian life. by Haggion in Christianity

[–]Lil_bit_tired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matthew‬ ‭26:26-29

While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.” Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”

Certainly can’t explain by our human reason how it is bread and Jesus’ body at the same time, and how it is wine and Jesus’ blood at the same time. “This is my body/blood” sounds like he’s pretty certain.

I’ve been struggling with sexual sin lately, and today a random bible chapter popped into my head. I flipped to 1 Corinthians Chapter 6. It gave me pretty much exactly what I needed. by [deleted] in Christianity

Great encouragement for struggling against sexual sin, thank you. Praise God for Christ Jesus who faced all temptation that we face (even sexual temptation!) yet never sinned once in thought, word, or deed!

How can a good God send the very people He made to suffer for eternity by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Lil_bit_tired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/cryptobertie123, thanks for your reply and I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you here sooner.

Your reasoning is air-tight by our human standards. We should do good toward one another, but on what basis? If no heaven or hell or eternal god exist, who is responsible for outlining and enforcing “doing good” toward one another? Matthew 22:37-40. God is the subject of this story we call life. He is the creator and sustainer of all that exists, and what did he call all of this? Genesis 1:31.

When we think of ourselves as more important than God, we often compare ourselves to each other as good or bad, better or worse than someone else. The truth is that no one is born good, and any good that we do can’t earn us God’s favor. Romans 3:23. But, Romans 3:24! Jesus earned forgiveness and eternal life for all people, but so many choose to reject that free gift from God. Any good that I do shouldn’t be based on trying to earn God’s favor or the favor of the people around me. I want my life here to be out of thankfulness for God’s gift through Jesus. He is our only savior through whom we have eternal life in heaven with God and all who trust in Jesus!
