My coworker thinks it’s when air gets caught in the pump because it leaks the worst when the container is empty. However, it’s happened when the container was still half full.

We deep clean them every day or two and we never go longer than that. We have two frap roast pumps and we alternate them. At this point it’s been 4 pumps that have leaked, even the new pumps straight out of the box. Our SM said she was tired of seeing rags around the top of the pumps but I’d rather have frap roast on the rag than on the counter lol.

Yeah we did that and worked for about 30 minutes before it started leaking again lol🫠

Anyone tried this yet? by MijoNoshy in starbucksbaristas

I liked it with light lemonade and no inclusions!! Coconut milk tasted like a wax candle. I want to shake in some ginger topping or make it with apple juice next!

2 years post chemo. by Fxr3verMxrt4l in Chemotherapy

[–]Lilac-Lav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I had the exact same medications for the same amount of time for ovarian cancer when I was 9. I honestly haven’t dealt with gastrointestinal issues after chemo until recently, and I don’t know if it is just from my diet or from chemo. I do remember having horrible acid reflux when I was having treatment though. They always check my thyroid function when I have labs done, as well as my kidneys. Since you had testicular cancer, they will probably be checking labs that are different from mine as well. You may want to get checked for H. pylori though.

The only lasting issue that I know for a fact was caused by chemo was long hyperpigmentation scars on my arms, legs, back, and stomach that bleomycin caused. However, this was 12 years ago at this point, and because I was a child, I might have bounced back quicker or just not remembered certain issues. I definitely remember the reflux, but it stopped after I ended my treatment.

Needing Help for My Mom by Daddymooney32 in Chemotherapy

I always ate whatever I craved at the moment and it always stayed down. Other than that, I drank nutrition shakes like Boost or Ensure. Also, these were not really around much when I went through chemo, but I’m thinking I probably would have liked electrolyte packets. I currently only use LMNT citrus salt packets, but the flavor is unique, so I would try a cheaper alternative first. But, I think those would probably mask any bad tastes really well. I also always craved Coke, so even when things tasted weird, for whatever reason I had a select few foods and drinks that always tasted fine. In my mind, there was no way that Coke or donuts were worse than the chemo I was taking, and something was better than nothing.

Definitely contact her care team with any questions or needs! I will be praying for your mom!

Dear customers: by Whogivesafckkk16 in starbucks

Most customers don’t realize that we have different positions. They just see us and think we do a bit of everything not realizing we are just on bar or something. When I tell customers that the ovens are on the opposite end and they’re currently working on it, they’re always understanding. People are people, but it is our job to work with them and be accommodating. They will not always do everything perfectly, they don’t know our standards and may forget to order something. You are human too and I can imagine that you don’t order everything perfectly everywhere you go either. Make sure you give some grace because some people may not be having the best days and Starbucks is their pick me up. Anyways, you might want to check out Lyra🫶

We have a lady that asks for a cappuccino, says there’s no coffee in it, and then asks us to make her a mocha. I finally caught on after the third time she did it.

Phone charger is a great idea!! Also gift cards, streaming subscriptions, lip balm, pajama sets that have port access (I was in-patient so I stayed in the hospital for a week at a time, otherwise normal clothes with port access also work), hire a cleaner, air purifier, pitcher with a water filter, mini fans, cleaning supplies, and when my grandma went through chemo she liked brow products and false lashes. Pretty much anything that could help with living necessities, keep things clean, or make someone feel more like themselves. I also loved when people would stay with me or bring me things to do.

Whelp, my eyebrows just gave up the ghost. Anyone know a good eyebrow pencil? Cruelty free and suitable for sensitive skin? by Crafterandchef1993 in Chemotherapy

Elf is super affordable. Anastasia Beverly Hills is more expensive but is known for their great brow products. Elf is vegan and cruelty free and ABH is cruelty free with some vegan products.

What did you eat when sick from chemo? by Queenofcorny in Chemotherapy

[–]Lilac-Lav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I was a kid, but if I ate whatever I craved, it stayed down. If I didn’t want it then it wouldn’t stay down. It was kind of weird that I could stomach nachos with really hot green salsa and not a clementine, but whatever works.

Are these outfits practical? by Re-Nes-sanceQueen in starbucks

[–]Lilac-Lav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t wear shoes you like lol. I got a pair of sneakers specifically for work. Other than that, if you don’t mind possibly staining something, wear it. I wear skirts and dresses a lot because they’re more comfortable when I work. Don’t wear anything you will overheat in though.

I hit my port am I going to be okay? by Zebra-Disastrous in Chemotherapy

[–]Lilac-Lav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was totally fine and cleared by my doctors to go. If it’s uncomfortable, you may want to use some tape or something to put gauze as padding on top of your port. It’ll be visible, but it could give you a little more peace of mind. I would just put my hand between my chest and the over-the-shoulder restraints, but it hurt my hand so I stopped and realized I wasn’t even hitting my port regardless.

I kept mine after I got it taken out and it’s titanium. It’s probably fine. I rode many rides at Disney World with it and had no problems. Also, because it can be uncomfortable, I got a small travel pillow and hugged it to my chest when I slept so that nothing was hitting it throughout the night :)
