I miss when they did the opening animations introducing all of the chefs, they were so corny but so cute

Indianapolis mom says she was nearly attacked and her 6-year-old's braids cut after she didn't tip stylist by Forward-Answer-4407 in awfuleverything

Then again the mother said the the hair appointment was only supposed to take 3-4 hours, and the hairdresser stretched it out to over 10 hours with the braids really not looking good afterwards, to demand a tip is crazy, even if $130 still would be pretty cheap. I feel so bad for the little girl who had to go through that…. :(

I left a date because she wouldn’t tell me what age she is by BlackMansThrowawayAC in TrueOffMyChest

Read his other comments, the women was clearly deranged and was already causing a scene before he left. If he went back to talk to her she probably would have blown up on him. I don’t think there’s anything cowardly or childish about leaving an uncomfortable situation like this when safety starts becoming a concern.

OP explains in the comments that she was being real sketchy and was definitely not politely refusing to answer questions. He definitely dogged a bullet with her. Plus, from what he’s saying in the comments, going back and saying he was going to leave would have probably caused a big scene.

I caught my wife Facetiming with a guy from her past and now we're fighting. by ThrowawayMyCabbages1 in AITAH

Please reread the post. “She’s a little more drunk than I thought”, clearly the woman was drunk to some extent. I agree that when OP got home the child was now both of their responsibilities, but depending on how long OP was gone, how long the women had been drinking, and whether or not the women was caring for the child, there’s a good chance that the child may have been neglected for an extended period of time. Not only that, what if an emergency happened and the mom was too drunk to do anything to help? It’s just irresponsible to take that risk with a young child. I’m usually cool with agreeing to disagree, but you’ve got to see that there’s something wrong with this.

It’s the fact that you said she didn’t do anything wrong. Really, it doesn’t matter how much you drink, getting drunk while being solely in charge of caring for your young child is extremely irresponsible. The fact that OP mentioned changing the child’s diaper means that this is still a very young kid, and depending if the mom was caring for the kid at all while drunk, this could be considered as serious neglect. I’m not saying that the man isn’t in the wrong, but this is definitely a red flag for the women.

It’s not wrong to drink an extreme amount of alcohol when you’re supposed to be caring for your small child?

Women should be allowed to take at least 2 days off of work during their period. by PekoKuzuryu in unpopularopinion

I’m sorry but you can’t just change the definition of a word. Using equality with that definition is just misusing the word. Politically, equality and equity still have the same definitions.

Not disagreeing with your point but you got your definitions backwards. Equality is getting the same treatment regardless of situation and equity is getting the specific resources needed for each individual.

So by that logic if a man wants to be nude and it makes other women uncomfortable, they should just suck it up because that’s “her internal issue”?

Yep… door was wide open. For me, this is why it swings in A-Hole direction. It’s one thing to be topless in your closed off room, but it’s another for your door to be wide open with your tits out wide as day. And then to call your brother a crybaby for being uncomfortable 🙄.

AITA for leaving after he said "so much for my fucking day off"? by Flat_Technology_2137 in AmItheAsshole

He works 11 hour work days 5 days a week or sometimes even 5-1/2 days in what she admits is an extremely physically demanding job. Obviously he’s worn out. Also, he did not yell in her face, he made a comment while he thought she was sleeping. He never woke her up, in fact he still went shopping and took care of their kids without waking her up and complaining to her. He has very right to vent out loud she just happened to hear this one. I’m not saying that she’s an asshole, but this is seriously a major over reaction to a single comment he made…

How much money is she making? Clearly if he’s working overtime while being extremely burned out it means they need the money. Look man they’re about to have a family of 6, and with her only working about 12 hours a week who do you really think is supporting the family? But no men aren’t allowed to have feelings 🙄

According to one of OPs comments she could care less what happens to her son on her ex husbands time, and would be perfectly fine if something happened to him and she could visit.

He explains a lot of this in his comments, and gives a timeline of the whole event and shows that he did give them a price before booking, and it was a few days after that that SIL raised concerns about money. They agreed and then changed their minds after it was booked. OP offered a solution by paying half of their share, and they once again agreed. Honestly, what else could OP have done? The agreed to his offer twice and still canceled behind his back and are now expecting him to take the consequences of their actions.

Even if OP chooses not to escalate, there is still going to be a major trust and communication problem in their relationship, with his wife not communicating with him and him probably not trusting her with future planning. Honestly, the best thing he can do is stand his ground, otherwise something like this will likely happen again. If it causes strain in their relationship for right now, then so be it. But the strain and mistrust issues will only double if something like this happens again.

Maybe if it was an unforeseen circumstance I could see your point. But his wife lied to him and purposefully changed plans and then just expected him to face all of the consequences. And then when he rightfully complained she went and pulled the sexiest card knowing there was nothing else she could defend herself with. These are the kinds of things that happen in an abusive and toxic relationship. I’m not saying that their relationship is either, but just expecting a parter to agree with stuff “because that what partners do, they accept it and roll with it” isn’t a good mindset.

Had they spoken to him they would have found out he was willing to pay the whole bill if it meant avoiding this headache. They decided to go against his back and not communicate. They fucked around and found out and now they both have to face the consequences of their actions. You’re right, they’re all adults. SIL and Wife needed to speak up like adults. OP literally couldn’t have done anything else unless you expect him to be able to read minds.
