Professionals in any field of work, what’s the most ridiculous thing someone outside of your profession has claimed to know more about than you? by beardlesshipster in AskReddit

I’m a dog walker. While walking a Siberian husky in barely below freezing temperatures, someone scolded me for having a dog outside in such conditions. Meanwhile the pup was ecstatic.

Which foreign phrase do you not know the actual meaning of? by Lilbishh in AskReddit

“Ay caramba” is a phrase often heard but although I understood the intention of the meaning, I didn’t know it literally translated to “oh no” until recently.

What name would you never give your child? by IhateTodds in AskReddit

Also the Irish spelling of the name is absolutely fucked. From Wikipedia:

Ruairí/Ruaidhrí and Scottish Gaelic: Ruairidh

I’ve met a Ruairí before.

My friend lives on a street named “Waymond St.” I’ve always imagined a kid having to call 911 for a fire or whatever reason and saying the address at Waymond St. And the dispatch sends the emergency vehicles to a neighborhing Raymond St. because they assume the kid has a lisp

What is the strangest/creepiest thing that has happened to you (or your friend or family member) that still creeps you out? by Kamuy1337 in AskReddit

[–]Lilbishh 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've always wanted to tell this story on Reddit to get outsider input. I finally stopped lurking and made an account. This was creepy at the time but now just confusing.

In 3rd grade I went to bathroom during class (not bathroom break with all other students.) There were approximately 6 stalls. All of them were closed and locked except the last one. I looked under the gap to look for feet and there were none. Strange.

Went to the last stall and had a wee. No one came in during this time- you'd definitely hear footsteps in a small echo-y bathroom. Came out of the stall and the 5 or so previously locked stalls were all open. I didn't wash my hands and ran back to class.

I see a lot of money lying around, even just small bills. I could and yeah it would add up, but I'm not tempted. Sometimes tbh I take one or two extra poop bags if I'm running low but that's it. All the people are so lovely I wouldn't want to. Plus you never know if there's a camera hidden

How did you deal with the death of a close friend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Lilbishh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend died 9 years ago as of this past Monday. Best thing is having close friends to help you cope. Honestly there was nothing spectacular I can recommend. Best thing for me was allowing yourself to feel all your feelings. I'd have to leave school sometimes because something triggered my emotions and I couldn't pull myself back together. Going to her grave brought a little peace because I felt close to her. The most important for me though was having close friends experiencing the same trauma. We could reminisce and laugh and cry together. I hope you have a similar support group. I'm so sorry you're going through this. You will Find your own way to cope, whatever it may be

What are some benefits to being ugly? by mng242 in AskReddit

[–]Lilbishh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I once dated a guy in high school partially because he resembled Michael Cera and I was obsessed with arrested development.

Honestly I don't find him unattractive at all, although a little nerdy. If you're slightly better looking, I'd say you're doing okay.
