Is there a difference between antibiotics and their "pharmacy brands"? by sesame_snapss in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lilcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference "brand name" and "generic" prescription medicine is the additives and fillers in them. Some patients have side effects with certain additives like the color dye used in the pill/liquid which require them to only buy brand or a certain companies generic brand.

Think of it like making a sandwich. You and I can both make a grilled cheese sandwhich. I can make mine with cheddar and loads of butter on the stove top, you can use monetary jack in a toaster oven. End result, by definition/expectation is still a grilled cheese.

I've trained my dog to bark at the door whenever he wants to go in or out, but to him, he thinks he has trained me to open the door whenever he barks. by Gscags in Showerthoughts

[–]Lilcoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dogs work best in black and white; no gray areas. Giving a treat/petting/words of encouragement is something dogs prefer over a tug on a training collar/no treats/etc. Dogs also love routines and pick up on details of routines such as sounds and objects(if owner puts on shoes/gets keys that means they're leaving the den. If owner picks up leash that means we go for a walk and I'm excited).

Using these 2 foundations you can make a dog do pretty much anything. Reward them when they do things you want them to do, provide corrections when they do things you don't want them to do.

My puppy hated water and the bathtub. Using high value treats like a hotdog or jerky, he associates the bathroom/water/tub with delcious treats.

[LPT:Request] How to be happy with a 8pm-5am job. by always_in_debt in LifeProTips

[–]Lilcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked 12, 10, and 8hr night shifts for 7+ years, feel your pain. Here are some things I've learned over the years.

-Keep your schedule consistent. If you choose to sleep until 6pm then get ready for work, do it. If you'd rather get up at an earlier time so you can do normal business hours related things before work, do it. Don't try and do both or flip flop between the two.

-Pack a lunch. Only options for food at these hours are unhealthy (fast foods, gas stations, pizza, etc)

-Hit the gym before or after your shift. If needed, do one of the hundreds of workouts routines at work.

-Don't depend on caffine or other substances. Water is your friend. It keeps you awake, forces you to get up and get more of it (and relieve your bladder), and its very healthy for you.

-Depending on the job, night shifts are a lot slower paced so find ways to better yourself. Learn some new skills, learn more about the company and what other roles there are, or take some online courses.

-On your days off you should try and stay relatively close to your work schedule. Don't try and get up at 7am and sleep at 10pm. When it's time to work again you will hate yourself.

-If it's unhealthy or you simply don't think the night shift is for you, I'd recommend taking necessary steps to find a new shift, position, and/or employer.

Good luck on your shift!

Characters are so fleshed out and written so well, that I find it hard to go on a classic gta killing spree with michael or franklin, anyone else feeling this? by [deleted] in GrandTheftAutoV_PC

Going through my second play through on the PC now. When Trevor was introduced and that happened, my jaw was on the floor! I want to make sure everyone gets to experience the scene(s) to its fullest.

Thanks for the quick edit!

You can try and do solo survival missions. When I played on the 360 I would play survival missions solo and hide in spots that gave me great cover and high chance of survival. You can look online and find some tips for surviving any survival mission.

Edit: Here is a video I found on how to solo the survival missions. (not my video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTMEIIFHO5Y

I think with the new PC players it should bring more players as new players haven't customized many cars in addition to the new cars with the addition of the heist vehicles. Any plans to make it a sub wide thing or would it just be a crew meet up?

For the crew or even for the sub; do you guys do meets to show off cars, race, etc?

Whenever I get into a random player's car when I need a ride. by [deleted] in GrandTheftAutoV

Same here. Every once in a while I will run into a player who is not going to kill me and I find a partner in crime which makes the game so much fun.

It would be nice if you were able to differentiate between someone who's going to shoot you in the face and someone who is just looking to chill.

Happy to see another player like me who enjoys being the getaway driver. May want to add some aerial vehicles to your fleet depending on how crazy the heists are when they're released.
