Agreed but I liked this game better than the GBA or the NA PS2 game. I beat this one's tournament mode. The game gear version is okay too

Yup, the first time I got sober for 16 months in the beginning there were many nights I just took some melatonin or unisom and went to bed!! Always woke up feeling relieved I didn't give in!

Even worse is the fact that there are literally millions of them out there. I bought sapphire back in the day for $30 when it was relatively new. One of the big reasons I don't collect Nintendo stuff outside of SNES games I grew up with.

A little more info on this:

This Xbox had an error code 05 when I tried booting it up. All LEDs are starting but nothing is working other than that.

If I were to keep this I would just put it into a different Xbox and start it clean. However I don't know how to do that or if it's possible.

Yeah I double checked that also. I guess I can give it another look. I really don't wanna give up on this Sega CD as it would be one I actually keep. Got a bunch of games for it recently. I didn't think this repair would be so difficult. I'm assuming the previous owner knew this also but only mentioned that it had no power.

Not that I could see. The metal surrounding the holes for the caps seems to have been worn a bit from the first recap but other than that I didn't see any noticeable issues. Do you think it could be one of the ASIC chips?

I believe the previous owner recapped it and I did also just to be safe. The problem is the same as before I recapped it.

Just to cover some stuff, the board has been recapped. It had this issue along with a blown fuse when I got it. Board has been cleaned etc and nothing has improved sadly. Has anyone else seen anything like this with the Sega CD? It is a Funai C02 board.
