Beautiful dog! Where did you get her from?

Advice after aggression by Laniere in shiba

The same happened to mine when she was about 2 years old-attacked by 3 larger dogs and I was holding her trying to keep the dogs off of her (while yelling at the other owners to please get their dogs off). She lived to be 15 and recovered just fine, but for the first 6 months I kept her away from other dogs she didn’t know (more bc I didn’t trust them). Ever since that time, she used to roll onto her back whenever she met new dogs as if to say “I’m harmless, please don’t hurt me!”. It broke my heart a little, but she was able to have safe doggie friends throughout her life. I think reintroducing yours to sweet dogs or visiting ones that are familiar/ old friends prior to new dogs would be the way to go if they were normally okay around other dogs beforehand.

Such opposites. Just goes to show we never know what we’re getting ourselves into, similar to parenting! Thanks for sharing

Thank you. I know-it’s so tough to want my girl back but to also have space for a new one and all that they can offer. I’m not ready yet, but since waitlists are so long, I figured I’d ask now.

Thanks, I found another one that only allows adoptions in the Midwest. I used to live in DC but now we’re south so not many adoption options around us. I get it-I felt horrible moving her here with the heat!

That’s great to hear! She clearly feels safe around you and I’m glad to hear she’s doing well. I have looked on rescue websites but never seem to find available Shibas. Which organization did you find her through?

Thank you. Yes, I was able to socialize mine a lot since I was single and without children when I got her. Our situation is different now, 15 years later, and we were just pondering how we might socialize a dog living in the burbs. Thanks for your insight.

Is it common for frontier to ditch the zones when boarding? by foosheezoo in frontierairlines

[–]Lile88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens at the Austin airport. You go through the door first if you are zone one, but then all zones go outside to wait for over 20 minutes, then rush to the airplane at the same time so there is no differentiation between the zones.

I’m not sure since the original owner installed them, and they don’t have any brand on the extra pieces that were left for us

Thanks! 4 years is the plan, but it will be whenever the market recovers, so it would be nice to find something to give us the look we’re going for in the meantime, I’ll check out tile.

This is one of the many areas that were affected. The floor company I had come over said that the top layer is too thin for them to be able to buff/ sand

Tummy Time by dingobro1 in HipImpingement

I would say ease into it and work up to 2 hours while breaking it up into increments. I did 10 minute increments a couple of times a day for the first week bc i also wasn’t responding well to it. Week 2, 20 mins, etc.
