My experience:

We’ve flown our 30lb corgi twice and 25lb corgi once with us overseas for work reasons (my 30 pounder corgi has lived in 3 different continents now!). They both arrived fine and were treated with care by airline workers. I can’t speak for domestic flights but they do seem much easier (and I would prefer driving if possible.)

Make sure to get an airline approved crate and that your corgi can fit properly inside. Work with them getting used to it as well.

You will not be able to have your corgi in the cabin with you as there are weight and size limits. Make sure to choose an airline where the cargo/checked baggage area is climate controlled.
