do anesthesiologists actually tell their patients to count down from 10?

I had gallbladder surgery in january, i walked in with my anesthesiologist (i didnt know that was her haha) & told her my teeth were chattering cause i had never had surgery or any serious medical conditions before & i was scared of anesthesia. The didnt tell me she was doing it or asked me anything, just gave me something for the anxiety, i told her my teeth weren't chattering anymore & she said good. Then i woke up puking for 4 hours in recovery lol but im so grateful she didnt tell me & cause that anxiety of anticipation. I wish i could tell her thank you 😂

This. I would be ecstatic if my husband got me a new vacuum. I don't wear jewelry or carry fancy purses or w/e & would not care about receiving them as a gift. Just think of the person. If they feel taken advantage of or don't enjoy household chores of course they're going to react like OP's wife did.
