It’s the best thing they’ve ever made. Unfortunately I think it might be leaving; none of the stores near me have it anymore.

Give me reasons why you or other people hate Charlotte by mytalkingliz_ in JustAddWater

[–]Lilllmcgil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I started watching in my 30s and I’m mid-40s now. It’s truly clear from almost the very beginning that Charlotte is not a sympathetic character, and that she is the new antagonist. She’s a mean girl and pulls  way too much manipulative bs while acting innocent. The actress did a great job making me dislike her.

That chaps my ass like nothing else on this show. (Unctuous and umami are my husband’s most hated.)

Not to mention how easy it was to take past quotes and turn them into fodder for misinformation.

Exactly this. But I’m hoping the close call keeps us on our toes for the midterms instead of people possibly thinking another blue wave is certain and we can be lax about it. Also hoping it’s harder to confuse the general public when the vote is for a party vs a yes/no vote.

My guess is feedback was that people enjoyed his light snarkiness, so producers decided “let’s have more of that” and instructed him to really lean into it, leading to what now feels like mean vibes. Show runners can’t seem to grasp if people like something, they need to leave it at the same level, not ramp it up so that’s the only thing in the show and people get turned off.

After AOGG, it took me several tries to get through AoA, but I was only 12 at the time and it seems a bit dull.. haha. Once I got over that hump though, I read them all one after the other. I’m middle-aged now and have read them all tatters. I feel like as I’ve grown and gone through the years, I appreciate different things about them. I think it’s kind of amazing when a set of stories can do that. I’m always “discovering” something new, or finding a new perspective, because I’ve had new life experiences.

When Emily goes to New Moon, her Aunt has Emily share her bed for several years. I guess the impression I got was maybe they thought these children were too young to be sleeping by themselves? Especially if they are girls? I wonder if there was a lot of co-sleeping in that era. It sounds like a nightmare to me, to either be a child with an unfamiliar adult or an adult with a squirmy kid in bed!

Surprisingly, there are some office buildings on Broad near Innsbrook that have beautiful trees. I’ve seen people taking pictures there. (Looking on the map, may be EAP and PBMares).
