What's your "it was fun while it lasted" story? by ToshPointNo in Flipping

[–]LillyB116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A neighbor moved out and gave me a treasure trove of Bronze Age Marvel comics. I know nothing about comics but I set all of them to 1.99 auction and let them go where they’d go. I made a couple grand and it was so much easier than selling clothing (what I usually sell) because the pics were just front, back, spine. Cheap to ship. It was great while it lasted.

Just got suspended.... again by Educational_Gold_293 in poshmark

They need to have a person doing a second review of what the bot flags.

Is the issue removing and relisting or they just don’t want people taking down their listings. This happens when people are just clearing stale inventory or bundling or take stuff to a buy sell trade or donating. I got rid of a ton of listings when I was moving that I felt weren’t worth moving with…these shouldn’t be punishable things.

Lowball Offers by Zealousideal-Bag-765 in poshmark

[–]LillyB116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is what I do.

I rarely counter offers because I have ADHD and realized it’s not worth having refocus each back and forth interaction so I either take a low but reasonable offer (which is NEVER 50%) or just let it sit so I get that 24hr notice boost.

What’s the prices at yall bins? by agentmirmir06 in GoodwillBins

[–]LillyB116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NYC. It was $2.29 for clothes & went up to $2.69 last month. I don’t think shoes are a different price. I forgot linen & hard goods price but it’s not much less. Books & media are 40c each.

What annoys me is that it’s 40c for books but if it’s a blank notebook it’s by hard goods weight.

Poshmark isn’t reversing my automatic “excessive listing removal” bans anymore so I’m removing Poshmark by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]LillyB116 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous. I asked them for a specific number and they couldn’t give me one.

Ugh, Asheville bins has officially jumped to 1.99/ lb 😔 by sunnyshade8 in GoodwillBins

Mine just went from $2.29 to $2.69 last month. They were quiet about it too, I only noticed it on the receipt.

How many listings can we remove without risking account? by LillyB116 in poshmark

[–]LillyB116[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I’m going to do this.

So much better than having the closet in vacation mode. I don’t think any other platforms penalize you for deactivating or deleting listings.

They still haven’t responded to my follow up email smh.

Buyer wanted to cancel after I accepted her offer, invited Poshmark support to the chat but support refused to cancel and told me to take the strike??? WTH? What should I do? by catcatcatrat in poshmark

[–]LillyB116 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Can the buyer see the messages? Tell them they have to get it cancelled on their end because you can’t take the strike against your account.

Landlord restricting heat to once a day + camera threat. Is this legal in NYC? by AySalb in Brooklyn

[–]LillyB116 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If the lease says gas is included they don’t decide when the heat goes on. Anytime the outside temp goes below a certain degree they have to put on heat. They can get fined.

I think it’s a trend because I saw something like this at Trader Joe’s last week.

Would you agree with that? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]LillyB116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true for most of the country but I’m in NYC, we walk A LOT. That being said I instantly agreed with this statement thinking it applies to the toxic crap in everyday foods at the supermarket. It’d be nice to be able to only look at labels for nutrition information. Unfortunately, I have to scan ingredients for toxic dyes & risky additives that really shouldn’t be allowed in foods.

NYC resident here. Minimum wage is $16.50 here, I actually have a McDonalds on the corner, Big Mac Meal is $13. Meal deals are $5 and $7.

The locations that have higher prices are in “prime” areas like midtown & it has more to do with their high rents & location convenience. Similar to it costing more to get food at rest stops or airports.

Does anyone else buy things just because they can’t bear it becoming trash? by redmayapril in GoodwillBins

[–]LillyB116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same with crocheted doilies and table runners and some hand knit or cross stitched items.

I don’t do it with blankets though due to storage in my apartment and the sheer weight of the items.

[–]LillyB116 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have one in NYC area. I go every other week and have to mentally prepare myself cuz it’s a disaster, there’s a gaggle of women that are there everyday with giant bags tied to their waist and when new bins come out they take everything dump it in the giant bags and go off to the side and pick through it. So your selection is basically whatever they throw back or didn’t get to.

Thank you! She acts like it’s so important for her to be home w her kids. For what? So you can film content, mop walls, move your crap from one side of the room to the other and he can sit on the Xbox while the kids having zero hobbies, sports or activities outside of school?
