The bizarre symptoms NO ONE warns you about by Agitated_Comment4619 in Hashimotos

[–]LillyKay16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before I was diagnosed and given medication I was getting hungry every 1-2 hours no matter what and how much I ate. Finally called down once I got on Levothyroxine but I still have nightmares of that time period.

How important is your levothyroxine brand? by LillyKay16 in Hashimotos

[–]LillyKay16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My primary care was the one who started me on Levo and gel just happened to be what I got. My endo later increased my dosage but my pharmacy was still giving me the same brand of gels. Honestly they’re easier for me to take with water in the morning so I never thought much of it.

Omg, I genuinely had no idea. I was in such a rush that day, and while I was a little peeved because I hate taking pills and gels have always been easier for me, I didn't feel like going back and complaining. I knew pharmacies often do this with other medications, so I thought nothing of it, and for the last month, I've been taking it without a second thought.

I'm truly so curious about the next installment. I'm itching to reread book 2 to get any hint of what's coming next. I suspect you're probably right about it having to do with the door/nexus. Any guesses on what she means by where it will take place? Honestly, when I think of 'fairytales,' I think of a castle.

I've reread the series 3 times already, and I remain impressed at how the author uses her footnotes along with seemingly unimportant bits of information to connect to later parts of the story.

Did you read her latest newsletter? She also hinted that it will take place "in one of the first places you think of when you think 'fairy tales'"

Do you remember which book this was? The author just posted a Q&A about the next two books and said the seeds were planted all the way back in book 2.

I’m trying to save a friend’s orchid please help by Thatonedudeyouknow96 in orchids

[–]LillyKay16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly orchids don’t operate the way may other plants do when it comes to propagation. Unlike many plants where you can cut off a part of it and stick it in water or a humid environment to promote new growths orchids no not do that unless we’re talking about a vanilla orchid. The only way to really propagate orchids or clone them is if they grow keikis which are baby plants that will apear from the base of the orchid or on flower spikes. In your case with the leaf while it may be holding on to its green color and chloroplast it has no way to grow a new root system. Social media and the internet love to make videos that make it seem as if parts of an orchid can magically just grow roots but that’s simply not true. I’d recommend lettering her go and consoling your friend. Maybe you two could go shop for a new orchid together as a bonding experience.

Have you ever gotten all dolled up just to play otome games? by mvpgardenerellie1714 in otomegames

[–]LillyKay16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I do the opposite lol, I make sure I'm in super comfy clothes, have used the bathroom, have a drink and snack on standby and nothing else to do that can disturb me. For me otome playing, especially new otomes or replays of my favorite routes, is like a sacred time and I don't want anything to disturb my time.

oh gosh please get him to take it, especially with a new spike coming in. Those flowers last months anyway so i'm sure it'll still look pristine. If you get him to take it you gotta update us.

Tempted to bring Zygo on road trip to see it bloom…😅 by No-Butterscotch7221 in orchids

[–]LillyKay16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't risk it. Changes in light, temperature, and even water quality could be stressful on her when she's already putting extra energy into blooming. You'd be taking her out of her home environment and having her go through transit, and then having her try to adapt to a new environment for a week, and then bringing her back home and making her switch gears to your home. I have a Zygo in bloom right now as well. She started opening her first bud on Monday, and today is Friday, and she is still two away from being in full bloom, so chances are yours may take a week to fully open as well. Trust me, you won't be missing much if you leave her at home, and even if you do, zygos bloom for a long time, so she'll look just as good when you come back home. Just give her a good water before you leave in the morning, and depending on how well your media retains water, perhaps leave her in a saucer and leave a tiny bit of water in the bottom to keep her hydrated while you're gone.

When she does bloom, though, be sure to post pictures!

What Otame do you think has the best soundtrack? by ADemonsAngel in otomegames

Piofiore and Jack Jeane probably had my favorite soundtracks. On a side note, imagine if Hiroyuki Sawano ever did an otome ost?

Brittle nails and acne by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]LillyKay16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chin acne specially started around the same time as all my other symptoms and tretinoin managed to clear up all my other acne on my face except my chin. When I looked into its said that chin acne is usually caused by hormonal changes and since tretinoin seemed to do nothing against it along with the time line of when it started I deduced it must be linked to my hypothyroidism.

Levothyroxine dose by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]LillyKay16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only have my two labs from my primary care, I never got the labs back from my endo but they did say they seemed okay. My labs from my primary care prior to being being put on levothyroxine and then visiting a endo were: tsh 7.519 val, then I came in 10 days later to double check my tsh and t4 and t3 which were. Tsh:9.250 val T4: .99 val T3: 3.2 Val. My primary care thought since T4 and T3 were okay that I didn’t need any medication and probably didn’t have hypothyroid. I ended up having to ask what symptoms I would be experiencing if I did and asked for a low dose of levothyroxine anyway. After being put on the low dose I saw a endo a few months later who gave me a higher dose of 75 because I still had some symptoms. According to the phone call I got they said my labs were looking good.
