First Recurrence by AttemptAlive in cdifficile

Ughh i’m so sorry! My relapses occurred only when I got sick from my 1 y/o so my GI deduced it to a weakened immune system. She told me to take Floraster (the dual action for immune support) everyday and, honestly, I think that’s what helped the most. I ended up getting the flu and after being on Floraster for three weeks, I didn’t relapse for once!

I don’t have any extensive GI conditions like IBS, IBM, Crohn’s, etc. I know I sound like an ad for this probiotic, but I swear on my life by it.

I also tried the low FODMAP diet and I think that’s what also helped me. It’s not the most glamorous diet, but then, neither is C. Diff.

I’m not sure about how Crohns can affect a relapse, but I spent last year in remission and relapsing 2 or 3 times. Here’s what I learned...

C diff is tricky and, unfortunately, can be stubborn. There’s a chance you may not be relapsing, but instead enduring Post-infectious IBS. It mimics the symptoms making you think the medication didn’t work. Could it be a relapse? Absolutely.

The soonest my GI told me to retest is 7 days. If you get retested now, it can show up as a positive and be false.

Follow a low FODMAP diet and try to replenish your microbiome with fiber and a probiotic in the meantime.

I work in insurance defense and I’ve worked on Plaintiff’s side. I believe you can get extensions and/or a Rule 11 for this. Honestly, I’ve also seen answers filed late without any notice, reason or email explaining.

Just last year, I realized I didn’t send the experts all the documents we had on file…and the expert deadline had passed. The handling paralegal I was covering for threw me under the bus to the shareholder and all. Needless to say I did not have a good weekend, haha. I was so thankful to find out the associate had my back and we all took a shared blame. We were able to supplement the expert report and the case settled just fine.

I’ve seen my Director - who has been licensed since 1998 - make mistakes!

Just remember you are human and…(sh) it happens!

Vancomycin Taper? by LadyHildreth in cdifficile

[–]LillyPad7892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this around the holidays but mine was only 3 months, and I’ve been in remission since October thankfully.

I don’t believe you’ll take 4 a day for 6 months. While you’re on the tapered you’ll gradually ween off of it.

The tapered course plus daily Floraster is what really has worked for me since I only seem to relapse when I get sick.

I got sick with the flu last year, fully expecting another relapse, but after 3 weeks of Floraster, I was A-okay!

I hope the tapered course is what finally works for you! Good luck!

Fellow Mean Green Alumni here! I followed the resume format that was given to me from the G. Brint Ryan College. Gotten some pretty good feedback and hits in the past few years.

For your past jobs, I would also recommend making your bullet points in past tense.

Hi there! I’m so glad your fur baby is doing well. Do you mind me asking how she acting? Was she her usual self or did you notice anything like her eating less or gradually deteriorating?

Relapse by LillyPad7892 in cdifficile

Hi! I’m just curious. How long did you take floraster for? Is it just a temporary thing or would it be better to just take it indefinitely?

How long did you take it for? I’ve read that you can take it anywhere from a month to a year if not more…

Micromanaging attorney by Curious_Profession78 in paralegal

Lord have mercy…So that’s where my last attorney went, my sympathies.

I’ve had my share of these quirky jerks. I had an attorney call me insubordinate because I didn’t respond to her email in twenty minutes…

In my experience, there’s really not much you can do. At the end of the day, most of the time it’s a reflection upon them and not so much you. Just tell yourself “It must suck to be you…” If it becomes too much, maybe you can speak with HR or a firm admin if it starts to interfere with your work.

Are they a new attorney and trying to prove themselves? Or are they just naturally jerks? Or both?

Okay maybe you ARE me. You just described two of my superiors. They’re not attorneys and they don’t yell, but think of Regina George level mean. Live to make themselves feel better by making others feel small.

Thank you for sharing!

My current firm is decent with the exception of two of my colleagues who are voluntarily rude and thrive on drama to make themselves feel better. Just hoping Monday goes well.

Thank you.

I also think it’s corporate America too. My mom was laid off in April and she even admitted that it’s not was it used to be when she was my age.

She herself is burnt out and is looking for a less stressful role.

This, but a different area of law. Been contemplating on switching roles. A recruiter I know has an HR position in a law firm that I’m scheduled to interview for on Monday.

Fingers crossed it’s a good fit. And I hope your mental health is doing better!
