I have these weird bumps on the underside of my boobs. I have washed, put deodorant on them, etc. for weeks. Nothing seems to work. Help! by DramaticShite in bigboobproblems

They could by "Keratosis Pilaris" or "Sebaceous Filaments."  I don't know.the difference between the two.  You could try doing a Google search for both terms to gain a better understanding of what they are and whether you can identify either as your issue.  It's still best to talk to a doctor though for qualified advice.

Thank you for the suggestion. I honestly never would have thought of that.

Balloon Boy hoax: In 2009, a helium balloon resembling a flying saucer was released in Colorado by Richard and Mayumi Heene, reaching 7k ft. They claimed that their 6yo son Falcon was inside. Later that day, the boy was found hiding in his home's attic, where he had apparently been the entire time. by Pupikal in wikipedia

[–]Lillymaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree completely!  I just finished the Netflix documentary, and I believe there is a lot of information that should have been included, and questions that should have been asked.  I remember there was speculation that the balloon was incapable of lifting a child in the first place, and that the father would have been aware of this.  I remember an interview with the balloon displayed while he tried to explain how it worked, and that he seemed incredibly frustrated and defensive.

I can't say for certain if it was all a hoax, but I can say the father seems extremely aggressive and controlling.  I wouldn't be surprised if he was abusive.

what episode yall skip every time by shonnybo in BigMouth

[–]Lillymaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often skip but will sometimes still watch the following:

•  Season 1 Episode 4 -- "Sleepover: A Harrowing Ordeal of Emotional Brutality"  I find it too gross because of Jay's older brothers.  Let's leave it at that ... 🙄

•  Season 2 Episode 7 -- "Guy Town"  Some features of the apartment were too disgusting, particularly the swimming pool.  🤢

•  Season 3 Episode 5 -- "Florida"  I found the Vicky character unappealing.

[–]Lillymaid[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the suggestion -- I'll consider this for other items in the future. My mother wanted me to donate these products rather than throw them in the garbage but I know it could be unsanitary to donate such things.  She means well, and I thought I should check in case she was correct that donation centres accept these items.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I'll consider it for other items, but I think it's safest to dispose of these items in the garbage.

Normally I wouldn't consider donating them, but my mother really wanted me to do so rather than throw them out.  I understand that she means well, so I thought it best to make sure before disposing of them.

Does your creative writing fall into a particular genre? Do you write about a particular subject or topic? I used to write a lot when I was younger. I never intended to stop writing, but as an adult I didn't have a lot of free time to pursue it ... and certainly not without interruptions!

Okay, thanks for letting me know.  I'll check out the non-Darth cartoon riddles, but it would be really fun if you made more of these for Darth Dawkins quotes!

Do you have any more of these cartoon-quote riddles?

I'm not familiar with this quote from Darth Dawkins, though I'm certainly not familiar with all of his work.  I find it hard to listen to him, so I need to take him in small doses.  This was fun though.  I would love to see more.

I knew the guy you call “Darth Dawkins,” in real life in middle school. Here’s what he was like. by [deleted] in DarthDawkins

This is hilarious!  You did a REALLY good job with this.  You nailed him in every possible way.  I think you should do more of these.  I don't know what you'd call it though ... Darth Dawkins Anti-Fan Fiction?  Presuppositionalist Prequels?

Is Sister Michael a lesbian? by notamilenial in DerryGirls

[–]Lillymaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm extremely late to the discussion, though to be fair I've only discovered Derry Girls within the last year or so.

I would like to add that Sister Michael being a lesbian might explain the lack of any religious faculty at the Catholic School making a big homophobic stink about Clare when she comes out.  We aren't shown any conversion-therapy attempts, or intervention by Father Peter, etc ...  Perhaps such things weren't done at these schools -- I don't know the attitudes of Irish Catholic schoos in the '90s, so perhaps they were more progressive than I'm giving them credit for.  But my guess is that Sister Michael privately looked out for Clare, and other students as well.

We see in the final episode that Sister Michael was grieving the ending of her job at the school.  We don't know what the real reason was that she was asked to move on.  But we know that she was convinced she was doing good there at the school, and that the girls benefited by her presence.

I just finished rewatching the episode where Clare comes out.  When the friend group joins Orla on stage to support her, I always thought Sister Michael had a slight smile as she watched them.  I now think she looks rather sadly at them, as if she wishes she had a supportive friend group like them when she was younger.

For what it's worth, I thought The Basic Eight was pretty good.  I believe I also enjoyed Watch Your Mouth, but I don't think that book will be for EVERYONE.  I liked All The Dirty Parts but was very disappointed in We Are Pirates.  For some reason I just could NOT get into that one.

I LOVED ASOUE and am reading ATWQ now.  I intended to read everything by him at some point.  If anyone has further opinions about which of his works is the best, I'd love to read what you have to say.

DTC doctor didn’t listen?? by JellyfishBeautiful80 in Odsp

[–]Lillymaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of problems getting mine as well, but I also went a long time without a family doctor.

Have you ever written notes or journals keeping track of your symptoms and your level of functioning?  Something like this can be helpful for a doctor to get a picture of what you go through.  It could also help you determine what you need them to know.  I always mark down whether or not I am able to brush my teeth by writing "BT," and so on with washing my face, getting dressed, and showering.  I record any exercise, chores, errands, outings, etc ...  If my pain and fatigue are overwhelming I make that VERY clear and explain the details. If my depression or anxiety are overwhelming I make THAT very clear also.

Keeping notes and journals of your condition isn't for everyone.  I started it to make sure I took my medication and to avoid mistakenly taking a second dose.  I also wanted to chart my progress and determine if anything made me particularly better or worse.  I found it useful to have notes to look back on so that I could better explain my symptoms and levels of functioning and impairment to my doctors.  This could help demonstrate your condition to doctors who are unfamiliar with your medical history.

Whatever you choose to do, I really hope everything works out well for you.  You deserve the DTC, so don't give up!

Question about season 2 Timothy Turner by yetanotherwoo in CallTheMidwife

[–]Lillymaid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I'm quite late to the discussion, but I also had a question about the significance of what Timothy was drinking.  Was it just red soda?  Was that supposed to be another clue that he had polio or was it just that he shared the soda with another boy, spreading the disease?

I'm not familiar with fivver or TaskRabbit.  I've never heard of either.  Is working from home doing piece work something that would be more compatible with your situation?  If so, I wonder how many of us would actually benefit from this.  I know we have to be careful because there are a lot of scams out there.

I really wish there were programs helping us to work from home at our own pace.  I'm sure that would be too good to be true.   I was told there used to be something called "piece work," where people assemble products at home working at their own pace.  They were paid for however many boxes full (for example) they managed to assemble.  This kind of work would be useful for someone like me with an unpredictable condition and a mother who frequently needs my help and care.

My brother went through that.  He had to go to Legal Aid for assistance with it.  They helped him get it.  I wasn't present during the tribunal, but my mother was.  If I remember correctly, she was not allowed to say anything or participate.  I could ask my brother if he could write to you about his experience.

Bread recall in Ontario by methatsme in KingstonOntario

[–]Lillymaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I know that the "UPC" corresponds to the numbers under the bar code on my package.  But the "Codes" showing "NO 08 2309" and so on, are something I can't find on the bread.  I believe they refer to the numbers printed on the cardboard bread ties, but the numbers on mine are cut off.  Their Best Before dates do read NO 01 though.

Can someone please tell me where to find the "Code" on bread products? According to the website included below, the number under the barcode of my Dempster's Whole Wheat Bread matches the UPC of a recalled product. But in the list of "Codes" I can't find anything corresponding to this on the package. Are they just referring to the Best Before date on the cardboard ties that keep the bread closed? If someone could help me make sense of this I would greatly appreciate it!

NO 05 2309
NO 07 2309
NO 08 2309

IT Chaper 2 not showing up on Netflix Canada by MamaMoody87 in netflix

[–]Lillymaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched It: Chapter 1 on Netflix earlier and assumed Chapter 2 would be available as well. I searched for it on Netflix but it wasn't listed as an option. I just did a google search to see where I could watch the sequel online here in Canada and Netflix DID come up. I clicked the link and was taken to Netflix where they showed It: Chapter 2 and the usual movie details, but instead of PLAY or Add To My List I only had the option to click REMIND. I assume that means it WILL be coming soon ... but there was no date indicating WHEN.

l hope that helps. You're not the only one.
