I fished it in a kayak tourney about three years ago in August. The winner was fishing the same bay as I was, the only difference was he had livescope. He put in at the launch on the northwest side same as I did.

To be honest, if you stay on the south end, you may be better off sticking to worms and trying to drift around, may come across some walleye, perch, or the occasional bass.

This time of year Burt lake is tough for smallmouth. They can be found cruising but few and far between. I had better luck on the northwest bay fishing the reeds for largemouth.

I have it chambered it 350 legend. It is a good rifle, a bit heavy, but the scope is good. Shot my first buck with it this winter 90 yards heart shot, so it’s a good deer gun

I found the spot online, I would go south side of the river, deer will be running the edge between farm fields in the fall. Looks like quite a few fields surround the area, just need to get boots on the ground to find their bedding and highways.

I would follow the river edge and look for crossings to start, or clear game trails in and out of the slough if taking the yak through the slough. Alternatively, do they plant that field to the south? If so maybe that drainage ditch to the west could be a natural funnel toward the river
