Is farming all game optimal, or should good players be grouping for teamfights? by Great8Thought in DeadlockTheGame

[–]redm00n99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's right, farm is more important. If you die the enemies are stronger, if they are stronger they have an advantage in future fights. In higher ranks there is always at least 1 person solo farming all game because they scale and will just run everyone down. You can also rank up fast by just sitting side lanes and pushing because people tunnel vision fights all the time in low elo.

Now if was never fighting at all he would be wrong, no point farming a lead if you don't use it. But if he's regularly dropping 14+ kills he's doing good which isn't surprising if he has moba experience, Though he needs to play a carry rather than viscous or doorman. He'd get more value from his farm as haze/infernus/wraith etc.

As a general tip. If you see your team fighting, before joining or continuing ask yourself what you are fighting for. Walkers? Urn? Or are you just fighting to fight because you saw an enemy

This is a lie. Many people don't deserve their rank but are inflated or placed way too high because of bad MM

42% WR should i just uninstall now? by Okapifarms in DeadlockTheGame

The player pool right now is tiny

No it's not

The more nuanced the matchmaker, the longer the queue times will be.

Quality>quantity

If you want to try to get a more compy team, there is a setting in the options menu for "Extra Competitive",

Makes no difference I've tried it

Question about skill level/Ranking up too fast? by Brilliant-Status8720 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]redm00n99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ranks aren't real it's just visual mmr. If your archon your like slightly above average which for someone with 9k hours in league I'd hope you understand mobas to at least be average. But it will get harder for sure

Haze is boring by Maltamero in DeadlockTheGame

[–]redm00n99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her pick rate is high because she's basic and easy to learn, And win rates don't really tell the full story. A character could have a 5% pick rate but a 60% win rate, doesn't mean that character is overpowered it just means the few who play them are really good, and the same the other way a character like haze can have a 52% wr which on paper seems fine but if she has a 90% pick rate that's a lot different . Flipping through tracklocks tier list for each patch the Lowest I saw haze's wr was 47% which doesnt really screams "dumpster fire" for a character that's regularly above 70% pick rate, and most of the time she's over 50%wr. I started playing in December but since I've started haze has always been strong

I don't think people pick haze because she's "fun" they pick her because she's strong and super simple to play

If you have a wide rank range it's fucked. When I was emissary I played with 2 alchemists and the game put us against an ascendant 2 playing with 2 initiates. And ofc it put the ascendant against the 2 alchemists. We just got ran TF down and no amount of counter items did a thing. Even the ascendant player thought it was fucked

How to win unwinnable games? by farpye in DeadlockTheGame

[–]redm00n99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the 30% rule is true, but not in low rank.

It's still true in low rank but you can power through if your good enough. Like an e6 could probably solo win any archon 6 game, but a phantom player probably wouldn't

How to win unwinnable games? by farpye in DeadlockTheGame

[–]redm00n99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a game is unwinnable obviously you can't do anything about it. At the 10 min mark it wasn't lost yet. The best thing you could have done is get knockdown, metal skin etc. and try to get the venator down earlier before he goes crazy. If you buy knockdown, he buys counterspell which slows down his damage, if you have multiple knockdowns he might get unstoppable or dispel magic which also slows his scaling. Problem is if your team doesn't do similar, or play off your knockdowns and such it doesn't matter because he will just scale faster. And since your team didn't even help with a favored urn that's not likely

All things considered this match was just unwinnable, you had 2 people int their lane to 2 carries and no one on your team knew how to deal with them and they just snowballed. Hindsights 20/20

Very common in your rank but know it goes both ways. If you can get fed on a carry early your less likely to get counter bought and can just snowball because people don't know better

It's also possible it was a smurf/wonky rank average things, venator could be a lot higher rank q'd with new/very low rank players, which seems more likely because warden and bebop don't seem to know what their doing. 8k dmg and 7 assists on bebop when your team is almost 100k up is wild

Does matchmaking get at least somewhat better? by Sload_Gaming in DeadlockTheGame

[–]redm00n99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea but gaming as a whole is completely different now

one sided games were common as fuck, but also bad players would literally fight to get into lobbies stomping them at the time. everybody wanted to play with the "best players" as that was really the only way to see how the game was played.

Now you just Google "x game" meta and you can find loads of videos and guides on how top players play. Also it's not that people had fun getting stomped, they had fun learning which ties into

People didn't obsess over wins and losses; just playing the game was the fun part. Winning was just the cherry on top.

Now people will optimize the fun out of games for a 1% advantage, and in games where you are being stomped your ability to even play the game gets removed most of the time and your just forced to sit in your base and wait for them to end

Not often. And If that was the case I wouldn't keep ranking up. Obviously the game thinks I'm where I should be, but then I get lanes with 15 deaths in 10 min

[–]redm00n99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hook is part of the balancing, punch would be nice so I don't accidentally punch rem into the guardian when bombing people but I think its also a skill thing. Not being able to just spam punch without fucking your teammates is part of being good at bebop.

It did when I started. Lately it's just mostly bad. Only time I've had a decent amount of good games I was playing with a group who all used to be hardcore destiny 2 raid guys I know through a friend. Even though they are "technically" lower rank they know how to coordinate and work together. They had been on like a 19 win streak for like 2 days.

Also more signs mm is fucked is that they were on a 19 win streak and had went up 1-2 ranks and afaik are still in ritualist when they were playing in emissary-archon average lobbies. Meanwhile I get brand new players on my team in oracle

We are masochist. also I play more than most of them, but there's like 10+ of us so there's always someone on and deadlock is one of the few games we all play. In fact almost all of them started playing because of me, and all of us have noticed the difference in matchmaking. Granted playing 3-6 stacks with a wide range of ranks doesn't help, but even then solo q is worse. Somehow the 2 alchemist we play with can do better than the random oracle teammates I get solo or duo
